An Illness to Remember

Review for a Italy Cruise on MSC Orchestra

Firstly the positives - the restaurant, bar and entertainment staff were fantastic, always smiling and wanting to help. We were a family of 4 with 2 teenage chlldren. We booked 2 years before cruising when the children were smaller (due to special nature of the Gallipoli Cruise that we went on). In that 2 years my 2 boys grew into adult sized pubescent smelly 'little adults'. Despite several ...

Charter Cruise; Fremantle to Rome for Gallipoli Centenary

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Orchestra

As this was a charter cruise we paid above market price for this cruise and knew it. But even so we were expecting a 5 star ship and cruise because of the way MSC Orchestra had been sold to us. Also because of Orchestras own advertising - the ship looks much prettier in photos, boasts wonderful food and friendly staff. First - the ship itself was immaculate, it was so clean at times it ...

Most of the staff were fantastic. Food was below average. Buffet was disgusting. Nearly all passengers got the flu/virus and were very ill. Doctor was poor. No medication. Service was slow. Internet was so expensive and disgusting. Could hardly get internet most of the time. Staff at reception were not nice most of the time. Entertainment could have been better. Got repetitive and boring over ...

Sold as a Luxury Cruise of a lifetime

I will cover the good point first. The ship MSC Orchestra was a clean, well maintained ship. That's where the plusses end. The food was appalling, mostly overcooked in the dining rooms. The buffet on the thirteenth deck even worse. Breakfast was routinely cold or lukewarm. Lunch was no better. Sandwiches and rolls were left in the self service areas until the bread was curling up and ...

OK, 35 nights cruising for one's first cruise could be problematic! NOT loved the cruising, despised the European cruise staff. Best bits: Our dinner table companions (overwhelmingly the best thing about the cruise) Visiting Gallipoli Nice cabin (balcony on deck 12) - clean, adequate storage, comfy bed, good maid. Tour out of Naples to Sorrento & Amalfi Coast Dinner ...

Background We were certainly looking forward to a wonderful adventure. We have previously cruised in Pacific and Inside passage with other cruise lines. Our first time with MSC. Cabin We went for top level 15. Cabin was OK but smaller than premium cabins on other lines that provide a suite. This cabin was one room with couch and separate toilet. Overall ok. Dining on Board A bit ...

Everything was as expected. We had a fabulous time, made new friends, enjoyed the shows etc etc. Met some negative people complaining mainly about the food. They shut up when I asked them if they had smoked salmon for breakfast which is on the on the menu as much as you like. Admittedly have had only a short cruise with a Greek ship the Sea Diamond so no real basis for comparison but we will ...

Never again

What a disappointment. My partner and I had been looking forward to this trip with great anticipation for over a year, leaving from Dubai to Fremantle. Food was mediocre and never hot, especially in the cafeteria. The layout of the cafeteria was not well planned. In the dining room the staff were great but the food again was mediocre. Even a simple dish like a Nasi Goreng was a disaster. ...

My wife and I were extremely disappointed with this cruise. Whilst the staff were excellent in most departments the same can't be said about the Chef's in the main dining area. The food was a disgrace, raw chicken, fish full of bones, raw sausages, foreign body in food etc. Our complaints fell on deaf ears. There were 126 complaints at the 1st sitting one evening, our table walked out and ate at the ...

Inaugural Cruise MSC orchestra - dubai to perth

This was to be our holiday cruise of a life time. We had previously cruised with MSC 5 times including several long ocean crossings although not as long as this one. Took the staff more than 3 days to clean the boat - we left Dubai in a terrible sand storm. We noticed a lot of the little touches were missing - right down to the MSC pens and notepads!! People at our table came down with a ...
