Comfortable Rotterdam

Review for Rotterdam to Panama Canal & Central America

Panama Canal transit in January, just the time to be out of the Northeast. Have been on Rotterdam multiple times. Enjoy the size of ship, the fact that it still has an Explorations Cafe and full Promenade deck, making it very comfortable, especially on sea days. Needs some additional activities and entertainment, especially for sea days. The Billboard On Board was great, just not enough seating. ...

Great Itinerary and Service

We chose this cruise for the itinerary. It took us to places that we hadn't yet visited. There were many ports of call in a row, making it very busy. We treasured the rare sea day. The Atlantic crossing went smoothly, but we found it too long. We enjoyed the high level of service. From the shore excursions desk, to guest services, to our cabin stewards, and the people working in various ...

Chose this because of itinerary which included Israel and transatlantic back to the States. Also it was originally going to be on the lovable Prisendam. Excursions - I am one to seek out alternate excursions to what the ship offers but those on this ship seemed reasonably priced and did not disappoint. We did an overnight in Jerusalem and enjoyed every aspect of this two day excursion. ...

We chose this cruise because we wanted to visit the Holy Lands and then we decided to add on the TA just this past October. First the good: —excellent crew from the Captain on down to our Cabin stewards. Everyone is friendly and helpful and see, to take great pride in their work. The captain did not hide up above but rather could be seen walking around the ship daily. —pretty good ...

Some American friends invited us along and the itinerary seemed great. August 2017. The RotteNdam as we named her was a floating bathtub. Raining in Boston on embarcation and there was water coming through the roof in the lido dining room so they covered the bain marie and had buckets everywhere. Ocean view cabin was the usual expectation, but very dated. Walked around and got wet socks ...

Good value, beautiful ship, friendly and helpful staff . My room was cleaned twice a day. Dining room nicely decorated with fresh flowers. Need to improve: entertainment and activities on board.Food is delicious and nicely presented. Excellent waiting staff. The newspaper excerpt (which is provided to guest every morning at the Lido deck ) is too leftist, I think if it is replaced by ...

Overall, I have to say that my wife and I enjoyed the cruise very much. When booking the cruise, we ended up on the Rotterdam as it had the ports we wanted to see. The embarkation went very smoothly and the luggage was brought to our cabin promptly. Most of our evening meal was in the main dining room, and the food and wait staff were excellent. We were taking the trip with another couple, and ...

I was unsure of my choice of a Lanai stateroom, but it was great! Loved to people watch as people walked by the glass sliding doors, and they could not see into the room. We could see straight out to the water, as the railing was more like a metal gate with intermittent uprights than a wall. Didn't miss any storage lost to the design of the room. Didn't miss the refrigerator full of drinks which ...

Just returned from our trip 3 -10 Feb 18. Before leaving we had a lot of issues wondering if we made a mistake booking this cruise as we heard/read that the vessel has a boat full of wheelchairs and walkers. During the cruise we maybe seen 3-4 children on board - from what we were told average age for our cruise was 57.3 - this maybe a little low as I would have bet the average is was around ...

We chose this cruise for convenience of the port. My husband had a course in Orlando on January 12 and 13, so we quickly drove to Tampa when his class finished and boarded by 2:00. This is the smallest ship that we have been on, but it offered the delicious food that Holland America is known for and that we enjoy. Our ports were Key West, Puerto Rico, St Thomas, Antigua, St Lucia, Curacao, ...
