We choose this cruise based on a Total Rewards promotion for a free cruise... I have been to these ports prior on Carnival and really tried not to compare. I am a platinum member with Carnival and have sailed twice now on NCL.Embarcation was smooth. Debarcation was even better! Whatever they are doing Carnival needs to copy. Sailed about an hour late due to the fuel barge taking longer than ...
The Norwegian Peal has very small rooms and the ship needs to be refurbished badly. The bath sinks are cracked and equipped with kitchen faucets. Large paint chips were sheering off the pipes into the floor on the balcony, and it was never cleaned up. My daughter's room had dirty socks under the bed and used soap in the shower when we boarded. (She has little kids and tried to put suitcases ...
This was our third cruise to Alaska. All onboard NCL. First was on the Sun, second on the Star, and this one on the Pearl. We haven't experienced any other cruise line to compare as more seasoned Cruise Critics have done, but we have always just made the most of it. Needless to say, we had a great time, again.
This time we cruised with friends from Connecticut. Out of the three cruises ...
Took advantage of a special offer to take this early season cruise and it was a nice way to spend a week with the 80 y.o.+ in-laws who can't get around as easily these days. Alaska is a bucket list destination and it did not disappoint. I'm not a cruiser by preference (so my perspective is that of an inexperienced cruiser) but I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the Pearl is. I was told if ...
We went on a Alaska cruise, mid-May 7 night round trip Seattle. Itinerary included Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, Victoria, & Glacier Bay. Note that this itinerary is very convenient and the most affordable, but not a great choice if it'll be your only Alaska cruise, as it doesn't go very far North. We live in Seattle and expect to take more Alaska cruises. We even did this same itinerary a few ...
We did the Alaska cruise in May 2016 aboard the Norwegian Pearl. Everything was great from the embarkation to the disembarkation. We flew to Seattle where Norwegian was there to meet us. Transported us to the dock and boarding was great. Our cabin was a mini-suite which was very comfortable. Plenty of room and a nice size balcony for viewing. The Pearl is a beautiful ship and all the ...
This was our 6th cruise to Alaska and it never gets old....Of our 45 cruises, Alaska it our most favorite.
We've sailed on the Pearl 3 other times and it is still a nice ship....It is showing some age and will be going in to dry dock for renovations soon. The crew has always been one of the best of any ship....Friendly and outgoing all the way down to the maintenance people... Always a "Good ...
This was our first ever cruise. We enjoyed the cruise and the ship was beautiful. The staff was amazing and all were very attentive to our every need, however, we were misled a bit on our state room window and what that really was. We upgraded to a Ocean View and had a 3 ft by 3 ft window. This was an extra $1000.00 and the window dirty all the time and we could not enjoy the view. Of course ...
I liked the freestyle that Norwegian offered. The restaurants were good and the specialty were great. All the employees were friendly and some learned our names quickly which was nice. The embarkation in Vancouver was too long but that was the ports doing. They had a new computer system and new employees. We enjoyed seeing the officers visiting with the passengers. The entertainment was very ...
My cruise was fantastic. I can't say enough. I cruised with a friend with limited mobility. Every staff member we met couldn't help her enough. Two days before we left for the cruise an outsell offer to a two bedroom suite was sent. We accepted, of course. The biggest thing was that it had two bathrooms. Great for two women. This was a first cruise for both of us and might be the only one ...
