We just returned from a 7-day Western Caribbean cruise today. We took our three kids, plus spouses, plus a grandchild and a nanny - 10 people in all, about $16K for five balcony rooms, excursions, drinks, etc.
My wife and I spent the whole ride back ticking off the reasons we would never sail with RCI again:
1) A total money-grab. We were hounded from our initial reservation months ago ...
If you are an active adult or cruising with teens, this is the ship for you!! There were so many activites for kids/teens such as rock climbing, multiple water slides, basketball, volleyball, soccer, table tennis, mini-gold, ice skating, movies to watch on the pool deck, etc... The food was excellent in all eateries on the ship!! Everything was pretty well organized and you could do as much or as ...
This is a nice overall ship; staff are very pleasant and ready to help. I know the ship was refurbished recently so I don't understand why there were so many technical difficulties. During one of the big show at night, a problem with the electrical system prevented the show from starting...the biggest problem was that no one said anything for about 45 minutes as we all sat and waited and ...
I love Royal Caribbean as a rule, but this cruise was like a roller coaster. Outside room was tiny and only had a porthole. I was assigned this room base on saver option. As a Platinum level on RC I felt they could have done a better job of welcoming me back. The room sucked. The room steward however was great My account on board was wrong and I had to prove that I had prepaid gratuities. After ...
This is our 5th RC cruise (have done allure, oasis, independence and freedom prior). I was surprised by all the negative comments and was nervous to go.
First, some reviews complained of all the haggling by staff- asking to sign up for specialty restaurants or buy daily drink specials. To me, that's just something you can easily ignore. It's part of their job to try to sell but walk away and ...
Wonderful ship! First of all the ship is clean. Well kept and constantly being upgraded. Great food all around, From the main dining room to the windjammer and of course the unlimited pizza... Everything was beyond expectations. The fun activities and great shows were a major factor on choosing this ship. Outstanding ports!! It's not to big of a ship that you get lost in the crowd. The staff ...
I thought we were upgrading from Norwegian and Carnival. Boy was I wrong! The Windjammer buffet wasn't even edible, the main dining room couldn't get an order correct, there wasn't a fresh piece of bread on this ship! Cabin was disgusting, changed once to a urine soaked mattress in the next room...it was the worst I've ever seen. Bartenders were incredibly rude, Sprite tasted flat and had to beg ...
We had a good time at the ship, it was a family vacation with kids between 7-8 years old, and the entertainment and activities fit us very good.
The ship looks and feels really new, with a lot of things to do for all ages.
The cabin was good enough for a party of 3 (one kid), with a nice view and a smooth bed.
The food. I would say that this is a all experience for me, this was my second ...
Liberty of the Seas is beautiful. Big, plenty to do. Nice Captain. Nice cabin (balcony). Good shows. Great dining choices. If you have a chance to do the Chef's Table, it is worth every penny. 5 course meal made by the main chef and wine pairings to each course. Second time I've done it on Royal Caribbean and both times have been a highlight of the trip. The food in the main cabin is always so ...
Two prior exceptional cruises on RCCL were exceptional. This cruise was disappointing from arrival in Galveston. No priority boarding lines or instructions for Suite guests until you went to the terminal door and asked. Entire process seem confused. Our cabin was not up to par as described in the cabin section. Walked out of Giovanni's breakfast on the first day at sea due to incredibly poor ...
