Dear all,
Here is a brief trip report on a cruise we did from Australia to New Zealand, which may help anyone planning similar. We went on the Royal Princess, out of Sydney (December, 2023). We had a balcony room on the left side of the ship (which afforded the best views when arriving at ports). Overall, the cruise ship was very good.
-Embarkation in Sydney was a bit shambolic and ...
This ship has an open promenade area, which we like. There were lots of music and other events in this area which were very, very good. The evening shows were generally wonderful, with a few exceptions. The Princess singer and dancers were amazing. Our balcony cabin was just fine. We don't normally do a balcony but we enjoyed it on this cruise. The sports up top were quite disappointing because of ...
We chose this cruise to go on holiday with a family of 11 since we travelled on board the Royal princess in 2015 for my brother's wedding on board.
We travelled on Princess Majestic to Sydney and New Zealand in 2018 and it was brilliant - 5 out of 5. However, it appears since Princess have sold out to Holland American Lines from Cunard they want to
a) charge you for everything that ...
Definitely Not a Royal Experience !
10 night QLD cruise - 4 ports
This was our first big holiday since covid & we decided to stay in Australia & cruise our beautiful QLD coast thinking on Princess it would be a relaxing luxury experience like our pre covid cruising experiences had been. Sadly it was anything but. From start to finish it seemed costs had been cut everywhere.
Definitely no ...
I have done many cruises with Princess, and the Royal, which is now in Australia for the first time was a big disappointment.
Not the crew, they were great as usual, but the cabin set up - no USB ports at all, two USA powerpoints and one European one.
Everyone has a mobile phone - have to to use the Medallian app - but no where to charge it!
Breakfast had the most choices in the buffet - ...
I can honestly say we had a great time, we booked the cruise as a different way in coming home to Australia from the USA, with the price of airfares these days it was a no brainer, we were told it was a repositioning cruise and were told not to expect too much, we had no expectations so thought, lets go!
We booked a rear suite, a premier drinks package with all the trimmings direct with ...
In Honolulu, we boarded a sailing that started in Vancouver – our final destination was Sydney and we spent a total of 20 days onboard. This was our first time on the Royal class ships and we found it an improvement over the older Grand class. The Royal is showing her age, but then so were a majority of its passengers (I’m in my late 60’s – I can make that joke)… Overall we found the ship easy ...
We chose this cruise so we would have many sea days, but also the itinerary was amazing! We went from Vancouver to Seattle, then Hawaii, French Polynesia, Tahiti, New Zealand and ended in Sydney, Australia. We loved it all! The food on board was great, although we found there could have been a little change from week to week, but all in all it was very good. Even the buffet had good choices! Being ...
Looking forward to seeing couple of new places and revisiting others. Was already on the Crown Princess in Alaska in may and found that the service and food has got so bad. They seem to be leaving the service out and many crew were not trained. We found that they were using the long ride to train staff. While I understand that if we had been told we could have not so hard on the crew we ...
Mediocre PCL experience. As Captain Circle Platinum guests, we received very little recognitions throughout our 7-day cruise. PCL primarily focus seems to be “charge more, give less.” Imposed new charges on services which should be included, such as room service, medallion orders, Alfredo/Gigi’s, etc. Crew seemed tired, overwhelmed, unhappy and rude at times. Managers conduct meetings with staff ...
