AJ’s Sloth and Monkey sanctuary. We booked this on our own in advance. Shore excursions to these places were longer and more costly. We got transportation and the animal experience for $35 pp. Lots of fun and guide was great.

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Jade

We chose this cruise for Key West. Departure was delayed seven hours in Tampa due to fog, but little, if any, communication as to efforts to get to Key West. Inaccurate information posted on the Navigator's Log on room TV as to arrival in Tampa at 1 am, which was another seven hours in port. According to Captain Karlsson during the Q&A, demolition of the second pool and huge water slide took ...

This boat is supposable getting renovated and it needs it. We were delayed due to fog for about 6 hours so we didn't get to go to key west. We went to Cozumel for 2 days on our 5 day cruise. They were tearing down the slide and shut down the pool. We sooo enjoyed the sound of construction equipment while laying out next to a dumpster. I also loved purchasing a beverage package and waiting 45 ...

We chose this cruise with family and friends to escape the cold of the midWest and be someplace warm and fun over New Years. The boarding process was the only real negative experience. Even though the ship only hold 2400 passengers, we arrived at the port at 11:30 AM and did not actually board the ship until 3:45 PM. The rest of time was spend waiting in very long lines and the check-in process ...

Worn and Tired

After several years on Celebrity Solstice Class ships we decided to try something different. When we stepped onto the Jade we immediately notice the cramped, dingy feel of our surroundings. The ship is dark, the halls narrow and the decor dated. We were on deck 10 and our cabin was small with very poor storage. The crew was (for the most part) unresponsive and there did not seem to be ...

A few observations for future cruisers on this itinerary/ship/line, just back from 8 days on Jade. 1. Harvest Caye; there is much garbage written about this. Guys... it's IN Belize... but it's not 'Belize', it's a private island - think of it like a big resort hotel where the rooms pull up in the morning and leave in the evening. Don't go there expecting a genuine cultural experience... it's a ...

3rd holiday cruise and 1st time on NCL. Not impressed! After booking, we were moved from agent to agent and never really received a solid answer on anything. Upon booking we asked about watching college bowl games since there was not a sports bar. They told me that there was an area to watch the games, as we were traveling with 4 college aged kids and we are all football fans. When it was ...

When I learned I would be taking a Christmas/New Year cruise with my daughter, I was both excited and a bit apprehensive. The holidays on a cruise and with a cruise line I was not familiar with had me wondering what I had gotten myself into.....to help you decide and hopefully, relieve your apprehensions, I am giving you a glimpse of my experiences. Our cruise began on December 26th and ...

Have so many points with NCL but we were very disappointed with this cruise. Not much personal attention. The Caption never gave out reports. The servers were great. One stop was in Santos Guatemala and it was awful. The port was at a container ship yard. one of the dealers told us it was awful to stay on ship. It was just a disappointment. We will probably try another cruise line next time/ There ...

DO NOT Cruise with Norwegian. They have bed bugs We had a group and it was the worst cruise we ever experience. 1. Embarkation was terrible has to wait nearly 2 hrs. 2. The freestyle Dining was a joke- has to wait at least 30 to 40 minutes 3. the cooks were not sanitary- the ship we were on JADE most did not wear gloves and eat from the hand that service the food 4. Not friendly ...

My brother and I had cruised previously on the Norwegian Jade out of Venice in June 2015 and he unfortunately suffered a stoke while at sea. He had to be tendered off the ship to a Greek island for hospitalization. He has recovered to about 90% so we decided to take the Jade again to 'finish' the cruise that we started 18 months ago! We had booked a 'Guarantee Mini-Suite' which they had ...
