Review for River Baroness to Europe - River Cruise

This was our fourth Uniworld River Cruise and it was a pleasure to take another trip. The sites were wonderful and the staff was superb as always. My only regret was that the room was the smallest that we've had on Uniworld although this was the last trip for this ship so I'm sure it will be up to world-class standards once the renovations are complete. The tour guides for each excursion were ...

We arrived in Paris 2 days before our cruise and spent the time seeing the Parisian sites. We didn't realize that lunch was available on board the first day before the ship embarked on our cruise, so take advantage of that. Our ship the River Baroness was lovely, but our cruise was its very last as it is being retired. A couple we were with commented about how small the cabin was, but we didn't ...

I especially chose this cruise to see the Normandy Beaches, Giverney and Rouen. I was not disappointed . Great staff and we were lucky enough to have good weather in October. The food was absolutely wonderful. The wait staff attentive. The wine was flowing and very good. WE also followed this cruise with one from Bordoeaux on the River Royale. It was much better. The rooms larger and there ...

Cruise went through Normandy which we had always wanted to see. The trip to the D Day beaches was very emotional and overwhelming at the same time. You actually could spend days there, but we only had the one day. Seeing the American Cemetery was heartbreaking. The cruise director, Tania was wonderful and the guides we had at every stop were extremely knowledgeable and very entertaining! ...

Always wanted to see Normandy, and Uniworld offered a Paris-Normandy-Paris cruise. We've been on the typical big ship cruises, but never a river cruise, and this one had fewer than 100 guests. We really didn't know what to expect. Well, it greatly exceeded our expectations! The service was unbelievable and the food was extraordinary! The excursions were perfect, including the knowledgeable - ...

My wife and I went on the cruise from Paris to Normandy on the River Baroness in september. The ship is beautifully presented and decorated with the rooms being top class although a little smaller than we expected especially the bathroom .However this was an older boat which was about to be retired.Apart from this the staff ,amenities and facilities were fantastic. The food wine and dining ...

Celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary with Uniworld. We loved the itinerary; Giverny, Normandy Beaches, Rouen, Honfleur, and Auvers-Sue-Oise. The food and wine on board were all very good. The on board entertainment was also good. I especially like that Uniworld allows me to personalize my meals giving me flexibility. We met several new friends from around the states and Canada and ...

This cruise was recommended by friends with whom my wife and I we were traveling in France. After spending 4 days in Paris we cruised to Normandy and back over the course of a week. Embarkation and disembarkation were flawless and uneventful. The food was plentiful and excellent and the staff attentive without being intrusive. Being in France and knowing little French, I thought language might be ...

We chose this cruise because it neatly dovetailed with a 2 week tour of France that we were completing on its sailing date. This was our 6th river cruise and we had travelled with Uniworld on the River Countess in Italy a few years ago, and had a wonderful experience on that ship. We found the food on the Baroness to be exceptional, the service excellent, and the excursions to be very informative, ...

How Uniworld disappointed me

I chose Uniworld as I had had wonderful experiences with 1 Avalon cruise ship and 2 APT cruise ships in the past.I still think that River Cruising is the only way to travel. I caught a cold whilst travelling on APT and cannot speak more highly of the staff attention I received. My suite was turned into a hospital room with fresh juice, constant care, change of linen and meals delivered to my ...
