This was my fourth Avalon cruise and it did not disappoint! It was suggested to me that the scenery on the Moselle was gorgeous and it truly was. Vineyards as far as the eye could see, lovely medieval towns, and plenty of interesting excursions. I especially enjoyed wine tasting in Bernkastel and the History tour of Trier. Frankfort was also a highlight.
The entire crew and staff of our ship ...
The ship was immaculate and all the staff and Avalon personnel were dressed impeccably and were at all times professional in their duties as we would expect from representatives of a top class ship and company. The atmosphere amongst passengers and staff was excellent and we always had the belief we could relax or join tours without any pressure from Avalon. The food was plentiful and varied ...
This was our second Avalon cruise within the last eight months. On both cruises we were treated with the upmost respect and friendly ness. From the moment we stepped onto the ship until the day we departed everything was handled beautifully. The entire staff did an outstanding job. The cruise director, hotel manager, bar staff, wait staff, receptionist staff, cabin attendants, chef and assistants, ...
Avalon delivered in every way. The ship and its crew were exceptional in every way. This was our first cruise and we booked it with friends. Afterwards, a friend who had taken a similar Kristkindelmarkt cruise with Avalon confirmed we had chosen wisely. From the time we arrived in Amsterdam to disembarking in Remich, we enjoyed one of the best vacations we’ve taken. The laid back atmosphere, ...
We chose the Rhine/Moselle cruise because we were traveling with 2 elders and knew a river cruise would be a good way to travel with them.
The ship was clean, the stateroom nice, the staff pleasant and helpful.
The food was nearly unaccepable. It was like a cheap cafeteria to me, often poorly cooked, cold, industrial meals. The vegetarian options were 90% pasta, over-cooked, bland pasta at ...
Great reviews and had not visited the areas for this trip. The small size of the ship and the personal attention is excellent. The crew is enjoyable and helpful at every step of the way. Starting in Amsterdam and ending in Luxembourg with Paris added for a few days was a great way to joy and Spring get away.
One of the great things about this trip is the included tours and events as you go ...
Hello! We sailed last week on the Imagery II seven day Tulip Time cruise and it was awesome.
If you want to see a more in depth review I wrote a very detailed cruise blog/report on the CC river cruise board with the title "Just Back.. Our Bloomingly Beautiful Tulip Time Cruise Aboard Avalon's Imagery II. Full trip report with tons of pix!"
Here is just an overview of our cruise.

I wish I could give Avalon's ship, crew, and itinerary 10 stars because it was outstanding in every way. The meals were so beautifully prepared and presented - with all the wine you want from the local region. The entire crew did their job with a smile and couldn't do more for each one of the passengers. The ship was spotless and our beds comfortable. My room attendant, Nemo, brightened my day ...
Pros: Nice balcony room, comfortable bed, excellent excursions, the lady playing violin was really great and entertaining, too.
Cons:
1) Food. Simply awful and small portions. Some examples: The "welcome aboard" lunch was noodles and hamburger. Reminded me of school lunch - not a good start to an expensive cruise. My wife's main course at the "gala dinner" was sole (fish). Literally ...
Having done quite a few ocean cruises this was our first ever experience of a river trip.
Initially Avalon made an absolute hash of our flights and eventually got us to the ship after midnight. As we missed that evening’s meal they did offer us some light refreshments in our cabin.
The cabin itself was excellent with panoramic windows and good facilities. It was quiet with no discernable ...
