This was our 56th cruise and we know what a five star line is. This is not. It is maybe a 3.5 or 4.0 at best.

We choose to do a back to back (this was the first leg of the trip) on the Queen Elizabeth having previously (pre-pandemic) traveled on the Queen Mary on a transatlantic. We were a bit hesitant given the wonderful time we had on the Queen Mary, trying to manage expectations etc., but we were totally and completely overjoyed with the Queen Elizabeth.

After over 50 cruises, I thought it would make sense to sail Cunard. BIG mistake. The Queen Elizabeth was coming out of a dry dock just prior to our cruise, so I expected to step aboard an almost new, spiffy ship. That didn't happen. Excellent itinerary 16 days Singapore to Tokyo.
PRO'S - Staff good, cabin stewards great - food excellent in Princess Grills and Lido - theater shows very good - Talks overall good, Sally Gunnell was totally in command and interesting. Ship looked good after her paint job.

Because of lack of maintenance during Cuvard, the ship's hull had not been de-fouled to the satisfaction of the New Zealand authorities and thus not being able to enter a number of ports including Milford Sound, the number one cruise attraction for New Zealand. Boarding was seamless and the ship was in excellent condition for wear and tear and cleanliness
Our cabin was immaculate, however we experienced poor sleep due to hard beds and pillows and the shower was the smallest I have ever experienced on a cruise ship. The games deck was the best I have seen for senior passengers but not so for young passengers.

To say that we were disappointed with this cruise is an understatement.
We are loyal Cunard cruisers, having completed 14 other cruises on Cunard ships, including QE2, Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth.
