Wonderful Service

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Grand Princess

We had never been to Alaska and the timing worked out well for us. Also, we had never been on a large ship in the past so this was a first for us. Our suite was lovely and the ship in general was extremely well maintained. All of the staff, particularly in Crooner's Lounge and the DaVinci dining room were fabulous and catered to our every need. The itinerary was good and even though the ...

A little ragged at the edges

Just got home from our Alaska cruise aboard the Grand Princess. The people were lovely, the service was good (most of the time), the food and the entertainment were amazing! BUT, the carpets are worn, there was a whole in one of the decorative pillars, upholstery was torn... the whole place needs a good refurbishing! It's such a shame to see the ship this run down... We didn't make use of the ...

Grand Princess Alaska Sept 8, 2016: Aging Gracefully

We selected this cruise because our good friends (frequent Princess cruisers) invited us to join them. It was my first Princess cruise since 2005, and my husband's first cruise ever. We live in the SF Bay Area, so the 10 day round-trip to Alaska from San Francisco was super-convenient for us. I know the Grand is not a brand-new ship, but she is aging gracefully, and has plenty of amenities. I ...

Cruise was good, but Alaska was too cold

We chose this cruise because we had never been to Alaska. Well, now we have and probably wont return. It was very pretty, and the glaciers were amazing, and some of the excursions we took were fun, but overall, Alaska just wasn't our cup of tea. The ship was fabulous, as Princess is always wonderful, the Cabin was just what we expected. Service was great. Debarking was a bit of a mess, but we ...

Another Fun Time On Board

This is the second Alaskan cruise we have taken on Princess. Everything on board the ship was first rate. The entertainment and social activities were superb. We were finally happy to see that on the country dancing night, the band actually played country music throughout the evening. In the past, it was only on the first set. Glad to see that the games were eliminated. We like the ...

Grand Princess, you are the BEST!

We chose the Grand Princess because several of our other friends took this very same cruise and recommended it. We loved every minute of our experience from the day we boarded the ship in San Francisco (and how easy Princess makes it), until we docked 10 days later, again in San Francisco. We loved sailing out of San Francsico - didn't have to fly anywhere. Our balcony room on the 10th floor ...

Even The Grand Princess Staff Couldn't Spoil Magnificent Alaska

Superb service requires the same time and effort as mediocre service. That's why I can't understand why the Grand Princess staff didn't step up to the plate and do an outstanding job. It's a matter of self respect. I cannot understand how management has allowed this wonderful ship staff to fall into such apathy or lethargy. The person who managed our side of the dining room had decent ...

Grand Princess a lady in need of work

Princess 9-8--9-18-2016 Round trip San Francisco / Alaska . We are platinum loyalty level close to elite and this was an anniversary-birthday trip. This was my 5 cruise on Grand Princess since 2013. It is my observation that Princess is definitely going down hill in the maintenance of their older ships and needs to dry dock them more often and do more extensive maintenance and repairs ...

Another Great Princess Cruise to Alaska

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Grand Princess

The Grand is the oldest of the Grand class Princess ships being built in 1999 and it’s in great shape! Most everything was clean and shiny. The only area that looks worn is on the top deck where the Astroturf is coming up a little at the edges. My Cabin I had an inside cabin, B612 and it was clean and well maintained. It was a "guarantee" cabin, the least expensive they had, I booked late ...

50th Wedding Anniversary Cruise

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Grand Princess

This was our 50th Wedding Anniversary cruise. This was our 3rd cruise to Alaska and it was the best. The weather was just great. Our first port was Juneau and again the weather was nice. No rain and no coats required for us. The shopping is great and the time in port was enough. Skagway was next. We did a tour of the city and a stage play called the Days of 98 about Soapy Smith. Again the weather ...
