Transatlantic Cruise

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Celebrity Silhouette

This was our third Transatlantic cruise on Celebrity. It was different this time. We had a Concierge class cabin, and the only difference between our cabin and my sister's (who had a regular balcony room) was we could get Canape's each afternoon. There was supposed to be upgraded shampoo, etc., and we both had the same type. The extra money we paid, wasn't really worth it. Everything is for ...

Love TAs never visited Amsterdam. Check in at FLL pier was easy and quick. Room was ready by 1pm. Ship was in pristine condition. Dined nightly in Blu. Friendly staff and good food. Luncheon buffet had many choices all were very good including the daily themes. Crossing was calm seas. Daily lectures very informative. Have booked the Silly again in Nov. for the TA from Rome. Captain Kefetsis ...

This was our first Eastbound Transatlantic, having done 3 Westbound in the past. We stayed one night pre-cruise at the Homewood Suites Ft. Lauderdale Airport, which had justifiably good reviews. They provide a free shuttle from the airport, and we shared a taxi to the port the next morning. It was a rainy morning and we decided to arrive early (10:30am). Embarkation was well organized, and ...

Overall, the staff are well trained and are usually eager to please. Kudos to Nelson, who made each of our mornings brighter, with his coffee trolley and his bubbly personality!! As for having a good selection of "No Sugar Added" items in the buffet on the 14th floor, it was only after continual requesting that a station was added. It is high time that Celebrity and RCCL consider that 9.3% ...

Much improved experience over our last cruise on the Silhouette

My wife has a special salt free vegetarian diet that was a major problem with Celebrity until this cruise where it was finally taken care of from the first night. Last time it took a week. The dining room staff was wonderful, the food was great with the exception of the red meat which ranged from delicious to not edible. Another problem is the Canyon Ranch handling of the gym equipment. The ...

This was a quasi business trip so we had a slightly different experience than most so I can't say much about the entertainment other than I think it was geared toward the senior crowd and this is coming from someone in their mid 50's, but the food? Holy weight gain, was the food glorious! I did notice that in the bars, if you told the bartender to choose your drink, it was always a frozen ...

I always wanted to sail with Celebrity and its classy looking ships. I must say I am not disappointed. From the sparkling wine at embarkation to the smooth operation when we left the ship, we were surrounded by beautiful decor, delicious food and fantastic service. Our ports were nice, but we there for the ship. Would love to see more of Grand Cayman. If I need to point out some negative ...

We chose this cruise because of my adult daughter and grandson wanted to dive in Cozumel And Grand Cayman. We had a wonderful time, the ship is beautiful, food was delicious. In fact, our waiter and assistant maitre made sure my husband had an extra vegetarian menu. The cook made special vegan meals and a delicious vegan chocolate cake for dessert for him. I think people are becoming a ...

Out of the 8 cruises we've taken from Florida over the last few years (Carnival, Royal Caribbean & NCL) Celebrity Silhouette was the best all around. Easy check in, not overcrowded, good food, good entertainment & best all around staff. Embarkation procedure was more organized with shorter lines than other lines. Regarding food we thought it was very good but Carnival is a hair better. The ...

Embarking and disembarking was very smooth. The tenders were frequent. Rooms were ready quickly and did not take long for the bags to arrive. The selling or up selling really started to bug me. I don't remember it being so bad in the past. Service is amazing except bar staff can be very slow and it takes forever to get your drink in the main dining room had to ask several times for it. ...
