I think we may have set the bar to high for our first cruise. Very attentive staff. Top notch dining. We met many other guests from around the world. I think the ship is a perfect size for mingling I would do it again it was very enjoyable. The decor was beautiful. The beds were very comfortable. If you want a vacation where you want for nothing this is most assuredly the way to go. There ...

Can't beat Oceania for the money!

We signed up for the cruise the end of March because of a great sale. We were a group of 4 couples; 2 veteran, 2 novice. The two new couples to cruising on Oceania had their expectations far exceeded ( we all took the O Life option ). The two veteran had our expectations met. All had a great time in spite of one of the novice couples being pick pocketed in Barcelona upon arrival at the airport ...

Just 7 months ago I was on the Riviera and had noticed Oceania had slipped in almost every area since the 4 cruises I had previously with them. But now the Riviera has slipped out of "luxury cruises" into the mainstream. For the same money, I have been far happier in a full suite on Princess. We embarked in Barcelona easily and our concierge level room on deck # 10 was clean all week because ...

Oceania Riviera - 10 day Barcelona to Athens

We chose this cruise because we found a really good price and since we had previously sailed on Oceania, we knew we would enjoy it. Embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly. We arrived at the cruise port at about 11:00 and were allowed to board, had a nice lunch, and then got to our rooms about 2:30. Food was great. We especially enjoyed the food in the specialty restaurants. Oceania ...

Not entirely as expected

I chose this cruise as a result of the extremely good reviews and marketing by Oceania. It was also a special birthday being 80yrs young on the 15th August. There were plusses and negatives. Wait staff, Deck staff and especially bar staff were excellent. I have to commend the head bar tender Mikhael in Martinis as the best I have come across. Room staff were noticeable by their absence. The ...

Food is still great and the strong suit of Oceania. Service was overall-great, however, the destination services people need to be reminded that cruisers paid premium prices to go on excursions and should be treated a bit nicer. Smile and be courteous- it doesn't take any extra time! We stayed in Oceania suite and our butler Binoy was outstanding. Everybody on the ship's staff was friendly ( ...

Great ship experience.

This was a great experience. Service was great, food was great, ship is beautiful and the ports were wonderful. Some of the most beautiful spots in the world. One word of caution. The full day expeditions were very long, 8 hours, and way too much time on a bus. Three stops and over 3 hours on the bus. No freedom to do anything other than follow the tour and get back on the bus. My experience ...

Brown shower water ...

This was a honeymoon cruise and expectations were high. On the third night of the cruise our shower lost pressure only to regain pressure while gushing hot thick brown water. Thank God my wife was not in the shower, otherwise her being covered in thick brown water would have ruined our honeymoon. I was told by reception we would have a plumber address the situation right away only to have our ...

We cruised on the Oceania Riviera from Athens to Monte Carlo. While my husband and I enjoyed the excellent service and the ports, and overall had a great time on the cruise, we were disappointed in the ship. Unlike the Disney and Celebrity ships, the public rooms had no "wow" factor, and the decor was not impressive. The bright lighting, sheer curtains, and Muzak in the dining areas detracted ...

Wonderful cruise, but for a luxury line it leaves things a bit lacking

On the whole, the cruise was very very good and the itinerary (which I credit Oceania with putting together) was excellent. However, for a line and ship that bill themselves as a luxury line, I just don't think they lived up to it. Our most recent cruises prior to this were with Celebrity on Solstice class ships and I found the ship experience on those better, and not necessarily because of the ...
