We were on the Reflection for her innaugural transatlantic several years go and just loved the ship and the overall experience. When the ship moved to Port Everglades we were thrilled she was there and booked her for three future cruises. The ship is in great ship and very clean and the staterooms are roomy and the bathrooms and shower dynamite. The staff on this ship are so great - friendly, helpful, happy and just fabulous. I look forward to seeing them all again in January. I was hugged many times, called by my first name from day two and made to feel really special. The food was the best I've had in a very long time and the desserts - oh my oh my - scrumptious doesn't cover it. The buffet for breakfast and lunch were phenomenal and there were so many choices it was hard to know what to narrow it down to. There was something for everyone. Dinner selection was also wonderful and we felt no need for a specialty restaurant visit as everything we were served in the main dining room was super as was the service. Their dinner salads are unlike anything I've eaten on other lines. The specialty acts - especially the singing acts were great and there was always plenty of fun things to do all day long on the ship. Their production numbers sadly not so great. They need to work on this. They didn't push merchandise so you didn't trip over tables of "stuff" which I appreciated. They had a big 50% sale the last sea day and that was held inside the shops. Their internet package prices are pretty pricey but the service really wasn't as slow as I've heard it was. I never had a problem with our free 180 minutes. We met lots of wonderful passengers on the cruise. Of course, there are always some people who have no manners, are simply rude and think they are the only people in the world. That's on every cruise line. Lots of people escaping the cold winters from Europe, Canada and up north and I can't blame them. The weather was lovely and the seas the entire trip were like glass. We had the classic beverage package and prepaid gratuities and lots of shipboard credit so once onboard we had no expenses. Having the beverage package was wonderful and so easy. We never abused it. Disembarking was a bit of a mess but that was t the fault of a celebrity. Customs was short handed and they had things backed up for almost two hours. Short handed doesn't help when a huge percentage of the passengers were no residents. Dumb planning. Overall a perfect cruise and Inlook forward to the next one in Reflection in January with five of my terrific gal pals. They are in for a treat! Read Less

After not cruising earlier this year, we chose the time between USA Thanksgiving and Christmas. We like that time as prices are good and the cruises are not overloaded with small children. The children on this cruse were almost invisible. The visible ones were very well behaved and controlled. As the title states, the internet is really lousy. After pointing out that both crew and passenger internet were on the same channel, a change was made. It did not make a noticeable change in the quality of the connection. The staff members in the I lounge were very cooperative and understandably busy helping passengers who lacked internet skills. I am not one of those passengers. embarkation was flawless. Debarkation not so much. As departure and arrival terminals turned out to be different, those who parked in the garage near the embarkation terminal were a long way from their vehicles. When I first queried Guest Relations I was told there was a shuttle to the other terminal. I had to repeat my query and the representative had to ask about a shuttle to the garage. She got me a map and assured me that there would be a shuttle to the garage. There was and it was clearly marked. Success. Booked this cruise at the same time in 2019. Future cruise staff excellent. Did not like the continual advertising of the new Celebrity Edge. She is beautiful inside, I am sure, but ugly outside, especially the bow. It looks like an icebreaker. Worth mentioning is that cruise terminal parking fo Florida disabled Veterans with any of the three Florida disabled veteran plates is FREE at the port. They do confirm that the disabled veteran is in the vehicle. I was. A new and inexperienced cabin steward was quickly briefed by hotel manager and a supervisor. He went from lost and confused to found and on-the-ball. Fitness and recreation and shore excursions not rated. We almost never use the crowded and overpriced ship shore excursions. Read Less

Celebrity Reflection is a fabulous ship with a great crew. Celebrity Cruises Captains Club. The once great loyalty program of the once best Premium Cruise Line has expired. We completed our first Celebrity cruise in December 1996. It did not take many cruises for us to decide Celebrity was indeed the best. (We have now cruised on 14 other lines.) On our 22nd Celebrity cruise we were the top cruisers and were bestowed the honors and special attention we were amazed at. We are now back on the Celebrity Reflection for the 7th time on our 59th cruise with Celebrity. This is the thirteenth wedding anniversary we have celebrated on a Celebrity ship. Five days into the cruise and we have not seen nor have we received a simple welcome message or note from the Captains Club. (Nor from anybody else.) The Captains Club loyalty program has become an advertising gimmick and nothing else. The only clients on a Celebrity ship that really matter now are the “SUITE PEOPLE” and the “HEAVY GAMBLERS. Never could we imagine a Celebrity ship providing “FREE DRINKS” for the gamblers in the casino. If only Royal Caribbean would recognize our Zenith level on their ships. I guess as the saying goes, “all good things must end”. Entertainment was average but not up to Celebrity's usual standard. The Lawn Club Grill is a great experience and "La Petite Chef" in the Quisine restaurant is a very unique "show on your plate" with excellent food. Read Less

We stayed in Fort Lauderdale 2 1/2 days prior to sailing. It was nice to get used to sunshine and warm temperatures again. We walked around a lot and also explored the city by the water taxi. Highly recommendable. Embarkation went smooth. We were in Port Everglades around 11.30 a.m. The people checking us in was in a great mood, and I think we waited approx. 15 minutes to get on board. Disembarkation took a little longer, as there were some problems with the luggage (not ours specifically) but we enjoyed this extra time outside the cafe in the sun. As we did not have a flight this day, we just relaxed. All in all the ship was fine. I was never a fan of carpeting, but I guess it is a good solution on a ship. I liked the size, easy to be familiar with. Cabin with balcony with obstructed view. We were on deck 6, and under us were the life boats. We could look straight out with no obstruction and actually see the water between the life boats. So no problem. The Muster Drill was a joke. We were called to our muster station as usual and did not need to bring the life vest. They showed a lot of commercials for other Celebrity cruise destinations, while we were waiting for everyone to arrive. After a very long time we were told they had tech problems. Suddenly a staff person came running in with her life vest, could hardly speak after running and told us what to do. Then we waited for the captain to call off the drill and it was over. This was a joke of a safety demonstration. I sure hope they have better procedures in case of a real emergency. Fixed dining at 6.00 p.m. The room was very large covered 2 floors and the noise loud. The waiters were a new team. Their first cruise. They did the best they could and with a few more cruises under their belts, they will be excellent. The Sommelier always found the perfect wine not only to the food but also my taste. In general it would be nice with more vegetables to the different dishes. The best was the companions we were seated with. Every evening we all looked forward to meet and exchange stories of the day. I was not so impressed with the entertainment in the theater. I took part in some of the activities and the very best was Silent Disco - super funny. Service was great, the cabin always nice and clean. Shore excursions were booked from home. As I had hesitations regarding one of the trips, we decided to cancel it. No problem, we were refunded the full amount as we came 2 days prior to the date. When we arrived home, the money was already on my credit card. Read Less

We are bargain/deal led cruisers. We're not loyal to any one cruise line. This was our 5th cruise. Previously we had cruised with P&O, RCCL and NCL. We decided to book the 10 night Ultimate Caribbean with Celebrity because we got a free Classic drinks package and free WIFI on board. We were aware of the good reputation of Celebrity, so we booked with confidence. Prior to the cruise we were also got an upgrade to a Concierge room. The ship was understated and elegant compared to some we have cruised on before. The ship was in excellent condition throughout and very well maintained. Check in was a breeze and we boarded the ship immediately. The fastest embarkation of any cruise we've been on. Staff were very friendly and courteous and always on hand should you need anything. Buffet was of very good quality, but had an issue with flies. Not a meal went by without having to swipe flies away from your plate. I also witnessed flies on some of the buffet food and it put me off eating all together. The biggest surprise for us was the age range of the other passengers. We are both 35-40 years old. The average age of the cruise passengers was 50-70 and everything seemed geared towards them. Unless you particularly enjoy being around an older generation I would strongly advise the 20-40 age group to avoid Celebrity altogether. There are no Clubs, duelling Piano bars, Pubs, Kareoke bars, Sports bars or even Comedy clubs on board. Quite the opposite in fact. Just sedate bars and lounges which were dull to say the least. Lots of older/elderly people just sitting in silence. There was no variety at all and this made the on board offering bland as hell. Also there was an excessive number of high end retail stores on board. These stores were practically empty the entire cruise and seemed like such a waste of space. If Celebrity want to appeal to a younger cruiser, they need to diversify their offerings and better use the space on board. Also because of the age range of the passengers, after 5.30pm everyone got smartly dressed which created a formal atmosphere. Men were dressed in trousers and shirts and ladies in dresses or evening wear. Personally we're not fans of formal evenings, but this ship felt formal every night. No matter what bar or lounge you visited, you simply couldn't find a casual and relaxing environment. We're on holiday and want to be able to rock up to a bar in casual clothing and for that to feel acceptable. This was never an issue on NCL, RCCL or P&O, but on Celebrity it was. The grey hair brigade are out in force and staring down their noses as you stand at the bar in your casuals waiting to order a drink. It made us feel very self conscious and we ended up changing our attire every evening just to feel comfortable. The entertainment on board was poor to say the least. Broken Strings had absolutely no narrative and was a bunch of people singing at each other in a barn, but no explanation as to why! Likewise the Caberet show was promoted as some of the biggest songs from Broadway and the West End, but what followed was mostly obscure songs from little known shows. A totally wasted opportunity that should've showcased songs we know and love. In fairness, the female singers were very talented and could've easily have had a show built around them. Overall, compared to shows offered on RCCL and Norwegian, Celebrity was well below par. My biggest bug bare was the smoking situation on the ship. Celebrity do not allow smoking anywhere inside the ship and they are to be congratulated for this. However, this meant the two bars on deck 15 (top of the ship) called Sunset and Mast have been designated in part, as smoking areas. The Sunset bar especially is a lovely bar at the rear of the ship, but it stinks of cigarettes and cigars ALL the time. So you can forget drinking at both of these bars unless you'd like a lung full of cancer. We were so disappointed, as every other cruise ship we had been on had lovely smoke free bars at the rear of the ship to enjoy. As non smokers we were forced to use the pool bar on deck 14 or endure the stench of both bars on deck 15. Agreed, smokers have to be given somewhere to smoke, but they most certainly should not be given both of the bars on deck 15. Its also worth adding that the Sunset bar is directly above the outisde eating area for the Buffet and the stench of smoke wafted down. So this was another area we had to avoid. Celebrity is most certainly a quality cruise line. The food was of very good quality as were the service levels from staff. But because the ship is dominated by an older, more sedate crowd, everything feels conservative and dull. There needs to be a greater variety of bars with more upbeat offerings. The entertainment needs a complete overhaul and the smoking area removed from the Sunset bar. If it hadn't been for a great itinerary, free WIFI and free alcohol this cruise would've been a total bust. Personally, we much prefer freestyle cruising and would opt for Norwegian or RCCL next time. However, the free perks offered by Celebrity are hard to beat and I have to concede that we saved a LOT of money. Read Less

We chose celebrity reflection due to the good reviews and also bad reviews from other cruise lines. For our first cruise this one came out best. Excellent food in all restaurants, entertainment for all types of people, Internet a bit hit and miss, but that’s nothing really when going on a holiday to relax. Captain was a blast, very good sense of humour, cruise director kept everyone entertained. Excursions from the ship were well organised, the embarkation and disembarkation were first class, to get over 3000 persons off the ship in an organised manor was excellent. We met some very good friends that will be friends forever. We had very good times at the Martini bar most nights, the staff here worker really hard. Not forgetting the unsung hero’s of the ship, the room attendants who always made sure our stateroom was in tip top condition Will definitely be going on a celebrity cruise again Read Less

This was our second Celebrity cruise, previous time was on Infinity. The ship was very nice overall, spotlessly clean and I must say, I sort of prefer the design of the ship as it now before Celebrity start to refurbish Relection as per Edge! I much prefer the standard staterooms and conventional balconies! One aspect on this voyage that I was surprised about - the safety muster (ours was Deck 5 C3) was very poorly conducted. There was just a small video screen and it was impossible for most people to even get a glimpse of it. The crew were poorly coordinated and certainly not in charge and I'm not sure would be of much use in a real emergency at sea! This is very important and definitely should be improved. Our Veranda stateroom was very clean, nicely designed and well looked after by our room attendant throughout the voyage. We chose Select Dining in the Opus Dining room and the evening experience was excellent - food good throughout with excellent wines and our waiters and sommelier were superb giving us first class treatment. There was some confusion with regard to pre-booking of tables with waiters saying we could select a particular table but the reception staff saying different - felt like some people could pre-book but others couldn't? The evening experience on Celebrity is a good step up from Royal Caribbean. However, I feel that in the Ocean View buffet, this lags behind Royal Caribbean where the selection of food, especially fruits is much wider. One thing we noticed was that most of the time, the cocktail of the day was not included in the Classic Package. I just feel that a cocktail of the day should be available across all drink packages. The upper deck areas on /deck 15 were a bit too crowded, the grassed area takes up far too much space! Enjoyed the entertainment throughout. The voyage was called Ultimate Caribbean Cruise! Not really Ultimate imho, lol! Grand Cayman was not very interesting. Colombia, Panama and Costa Rica were the highlights of the trip. Costa Maya is built for cruise ships and is a tourist rip-off, complete waist of time. Not much more at Cozumel either! Compared to European resort areas......well, maybe European people are just more discerning..... I will leave it at that. Personally, I would have preferred missing out Grand Cayman and the Mexican calls and maybe have gone to Jamaica instead. The shore excursions were very expensive. We used these at Cartagena, Colon and Costa Rica. For the price they were not at all great and would have expected a lot more! Anyway, enjoyed the cruise overall, perhaps the best days were the days at sea! Read Less

This was our 4th cruise on Celebrity; second & last on Reflection. Prior experiences on Summit & Millennium were outstanding, and we thought that Celebrity would be our preferred line going forward - not so sure any longer - food & entertainment were disappointing. We are 55/63, still working, and have cruised frequently since 2005. Started with Carnival in the Mediterranean, and used Carnival extensively, achieving platinum status. Also sailed Princess, Holland, and Norwegian. First Celebrity cruise on Millennium about 7 years ago, and we thought that we had found a new home. The itinerary for this cruise was the selling point as we had never been to Columbia, Panama, or the East Coast of Costa Rica. A bonus was that it was on Celebrity. For this cruise, we had 3 persons with my wife's sister joining us. We opted for a 'Family Balcony' cabin #7108 so as to avoid the need for 2 rooms. Great decision - not cheap, but a very large room which was much better than 2 rooms. It was located all the way forward, so we received advance warning of arrivals/departures as we heard all of the mechanical preparations for anchorage or docking - no need for a wake up call. As mentioned, the food & entertainment are the weakness of this ship. Food was good quality, but variety was boring. We ate in the dining room every evening, table #144, 9 persons. We joined 3 other couples who we had not previously met - delightful. The evening menu offered a few standard items, and more often than not, our table ordered these items such as a Caesar salad & NY Steak because there was nothing of interest on the featured menu of the day. Lunch in the buffet also had a weak menu & offerings. The deli was a poor set up with little to offer - Ham (sometimes), Turkey (sometimes), Bavarian Loaf ? (everyday). The Chicken Salad was disgusting. The Deli had a panini press, but I did not see any customer order an item served from the panini press. The salad selections were repetitive, and had limited salad bar toppings. 3 selections of soup, but little that is popular - 1 chilled soup, 1 clear broth, 1 variety soup but on an 11 day cruise that 3rd soup was Black Bean 3X, Mushroom 2X, and Split Pea 2X - don't recall the other 4 days, but the selection was never chicken noodle or vegetable beef. Desserts were primarily cakes or mousse - no pies. Many cakes had a poor texture, not edible. Entertainment was limited primarily to the main show. The staff performers were pretty good, but in general the featured hired talent did not have talent. There is no good alternative to the main show - no comedy club or other offering. The Sky Lounge is probably the only other venue of size which could be developed, but it is used primarily for Karaoke, so if your ship mates do not have talent, you are out of luck. Positives - our stateroom attendant Elroy was superb. Our dining room waiter, staff, and sommelier did a great job. We are looking for a ship for the next cruise, so please post comments. Read Less

We joined this cruise following a repositioning cruise. Too many things went wrong, Our excursion on Panama was ruined by our terrible coach which broke down. First replacement coach as bad, 3rd time lucky. However, the excursions team did not want to hear our complaints. The cabin was pleasant and well looked after by the young gentleman who was swift to resolve any issues. The restaurants were good, however, too much cap doffing to suite customers and we were ignored, just a little too often. The queue management at the restaurant was haphazard. With the word Ultimate in the cruise name, you would have thought that the destination ports may have been more select. The captain was brilliant and we looked forward to his 10am messages each day when we were at sea. Other officers were not the most professional. Don't get me wrong, we enjoyed the trip, but we are hesitant to book another cruise with Celebrity. Read Less

We have sailed over 16 times on royal Caribbean, and twice on celebrity, and have always heard that celebrity was better than royal Caribbean. My wife and I are 50 and 56 and are quite easy to keep happy, my favorite saying is THE WORST DAY ON A SHIP STILL BEATS BEST DAY AT WORK. The ship is in awesome shape, you cannot find a fault with anything on the ship or the condition of it. Our dining room attendants were over the top,Orville, Odis and Alexandra were exceptional (as was all other staff on board without exception) and made up for any and all other short comings on board. The food was good in the dining room and tasted better just cuz I didn't have to cook it myself. The food at the buffet was excellent and certainly overrides any buffets offered on dry land. On port days, disembarkation and loading were fast and without fault. And OHHH , the iced cloths at the end of as hot day- priceless. Even passengers from the carnival ship docked next to us enjoyed the cloths. But!!! 1)The food in the dining room was "less than" in quality to what it used to be, but equal to royal Caribbean. Many guests stated that the quality of food had depreciated over last couple years 2) the entertainment was less than stellar, an excellent ventriloquist with same show for two nights, a comedian that was equally as good but even threw jabs at ships TV service. The entertainment was so minimal that we went to theatre to re-watch mission impossible since other option was go to our room 3)TV stations, all totaled there were 24 channels, the first 10 were all celebrity channels, and after the 2nd or 3rd day we lost all other channels that had any updates(news) outside of ship life. We are elite members so we asked if we could get a deal on WiFi to be up to date with any news and they told us the WiFi packages were what they were and the prices were as stated. 4)the singers that were in Centrum areas had 2,or 3 band members, the bands were very good, but singers were enough to make you wish you were deaf 5) the variety store on second day was sold out of bug repellant, kind of essential for rain forest excursion offered by ship that we purchased. And selection of munchies available in store was sparse at best. This being said, I'll be booking back on RCI. BUT, even with these negative aspects, I'M STILL GLAD I WENT ON A CRUISE INSTEAD OF STAYING HOME Read Less
