We did a 12 day holiday cruise from NYC to the Caribbean on the Getaway, our second time on this ship. First let me say that we are so very grateful for the folks working over the holidays so we could take a vacation.
The good: the Port of NY has the embarkation process down. We registered for an 11 a.m. time, showed up on time and were moved through all lines quickly and smoothly. Once we had ...
we wanted to something different that's why we picked this cruise. Started off bad when norwegian said they don't price match. The food was basic not many new option for a 12 days cruise. The entertainment was boring and the cruise director thought he was a celebrity. Sold out cruise , only open their nightclub Bliss for after party for new year for 4000+ guest. New years party in the cold , no ...
The ship was awesome. The food was amazing. We were in cabin and we discovered live bed bugs on day 2. We brought them to guest services and they confirmed this and took all our clothes to be cleaned and moved our room. We were happy to move…however there should have been some compensation for the terrible experience at 1 am having to move rooms and all of our clothing taken from us to be cleaned. ...
My family and friends group of 6 chose this cruise as our holiday presents and were so very excited for our first vacation in years.
Days prior to boarding, a group of 300 in the Facebook group were discussing the inclement weather forecast and getting wary. We all figured due to the forecast worsening as we neared closer to departure, we would either be canceled or rerouted. Morning of ...
First off the staff and crew were amazing, super happy and friendly, most of the time singing.
Buffet was kind of flavourless first day scrambled eggs were not even cooked.
The fresh fruits were incredible would have been nice more selection.
Vegetarian options not the best, and not much seafood.
Came into some bad weather and told we would stay at see then return to port.
Excursions ...
You have access to a small part of the ship altough it is a 5000 passengers vessel. A lot of place is taken up by the cabins, so the public spaces, inside and out, are really small and always really really crowded. A lot of people were sit on the carpet in public places. We were 4500 passengers when cruising, and when I think it could be more with triple and quadruple occupancy, I couldn't imagine ...
We sailed from New York on the Getaway on 12/16/23 with a two day stopover in Bermuda. This was the week of the winter storm where ports were closed and ships were being diverted to areas other than their planned itineraries. All ships except for the Getaway. Norwegian knew before we left New York that the port of Bermuda was closed. On a good day it’s difficult to dock but during a storm ...
Chose this cruise to get away for a bit and go someplace warm. This cruise is sandwiched in between an iceland cruise already sailed and an alaskan cruise for next year. Also wanted to see Bermuda as I have not been there. Even though our itinerary was reversed and we ended up missing the stop in Bermuda because of weather the overall experience was above average. The shows, live music, and food ...
Whilst some aspects of the haven experience were worthwhile many aspects were not. Balcony in a poor state of repair and dirty Sofa bed which is required if you book a suite for 4 was dirty and not fit for purpose.
No alternative available .
Facilities for 2 only despite paying for 3 this included life jackets! 2 cups shower gel ect only in main bathroom.
Promise of a butler to meet ...
We took this cruise with minimal expectations, and were not disappointed in this respect. Embarkation was at times quite chaotic. The ship is beautiful, quite impressive. The cabin with balcony was quiet, comfortable and as expected. Room Service was not impressive, when we arrived we found that the cabin that was declared cleaned and sanitized was mostly not. But they responded quickly to our ...
