Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Quantum of the Seas

I have been cruising every year since 2010, as my mother and I share a birthday, we like to celebrate with a trip, making this my 12th cruise (took 2 yrs off for Covid) and other then the first 3 (which were with Carnival) I have been a die-hard Royal Caribbean loyalist. I tell EVERYONE that although more expensive, they have better food and more comfortable beds. However that all changed 2 weeks ...

Amazing Crew

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Quantum of the Seas

Always wanted to visit Hawaii, but waited too long. Should have gone when we could have enjoyed a more active experience on land. The cruise was a compromise, as we love cruising, and we could at least have a short land visit on several islands. Really, really wish there had been more island time in the itinerary. The cruise itself got off on a terrible foot, with the worst-run embarkation we ...

Poor quality food in dining room, obvious staff cut backs in all areas of the ship

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Quantum of the Seas

Longer cruise than the usual 7-14 days, expected more bang for your buck as we are diamond plus but this voyage fell well short of the mark. We ate mostly in wind jammers as the main dining food was not up to standard, so menu repeated for the entire cruise and not a lot of anything decent to choose from. ( you could go to wind jammers and get the same food) without having to wait for slow ...

Chill times at the end of the season

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Quantum of the Seas

We booked this cruise because we needed a relaxing getaway. We had a great time apart from a couple of minor irritations. This was our third cruise with RCI, and we had even travelled on Quantum of the Seas back in 2018 (see my review of that cruise here: https://www.cruisecritic.com.au/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=606582) Fortunately for us this was a very different ...

Quantum of the Seas from Brisbane to Alaska

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Quantum of the Seas

We sailed from Brisbane to Alaska on the Quantum of the Seas. The staff as always were efficient, hard working and kind. The food, however was disappointing and certainly inferior to pre covid days. Poor quality cuts of meat were used, any chicken dish in the Windjammer was inedible as the chicken pieces were just grizzle and chewy, as were the stews, having fatty grizzled meat in them. The ...

Fantastic family cruise

We (7 adults, 5 kids) have just completed an 8 day cruise around the South Pacific out of Brisbane. One of our 3 ports, Port Vila, was cancelled due to the recent storms, meaning we had just two stops - Mystery Island and Noumea. Mystery Island is a beautiful stop, crystal clear water and nice little beaches. Noumea not so great, especially when all the beaches were closed for swimming due to ...

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Quantum of the Seas

Boarding I am not sure if it just a matter of cultural differences, but when departing from Australia, I really got the impression that the tsunami of passengers hurtling towards the Quantum were little more than irritation to the landslide staff. The staff's general demeanour towards embarking passengers was not that of a valued guest, it really stood out. To be fair, the over-enthusiasm of ...

price was right for a break from home after covid lockdown, but too many problems for cruisers with a disability?? steps everywhere show's at both ends of ship starting 15 minutes after the other show finished? and not a small ship?? most times had to sit on our wheelie walkers to view the shows. 2-70 thearter waste of time for disability cruisers, staff very helpful, meals in silks ...

Way too crowded

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Quantum of the Seas

This was our first taste of a cruise with 4600+ passengers and will not be repeated. It was like the Gympie Muster or Glastonbury without the mud. Our original oversize Deck 11 ocean view cabin 11102 had a great view through a large window overlooking the bow. We were directly under the Bridge. But possibly also the crew toilet as we were regularly treated to noisy vacuum flushing throughout ...

This is cruise #4 for me with RC. My 2 friends have never been on a cruise ship - so after some convincing we all "splashed out" for Grand Suite 11242 - on Quantum from Brisbane-Airlie Beach March 10-14th. Our Grand Suite was level 11 - close to elevators but certainly not noisy. Emabarkation at Brisbane - easy! Make sure you have your ID/RAT test photo, Vacc certificate and Set sail ...
