"the entertainment director ("PJ") was great, the hotel director (Andreas) was practically a stand-up comic, and there was a musical duo and a small band with a woman singer who had a nice voice.Unlike the previous poster, we did enjoy the dinner on deck (we didn't find the lines long), and there was a steel drum band for entertainment...."Read More
This was our second Windstar cruise, but will be our last. Our first experience with Windstar was excellent. Rooms are spacious, service and the people are terrific, and the food is very good. All the same on this experience as well.
However, our Panama Canal cruise was largely ruined by the complete lack of air conditioning in most public spaces. It was simply miserable to be anywhere ...
My very first cruise ever was in 2007 on Carnival that included an excursion of partial transfer of Panama Canal. Always wanted to do total crossing and Windstar had a reduced single supplement so figured March 2 would be a good time as I had trips scheduled for December, January, and February so March was booked. I could find very little information on this cruise so even though this was last ...
Chose this ship for the small boat experience and unique ports that were promised. Out of the 4 stops 2 were cancelled and we sat anchored for 24 hours at canal inlet instead of one of our ports.
A casino was still advertised on the ship's website at the time we booked but when boarded found out it was pule 3 years ago during the retro-fit. I will say the stateroom and food were excellent.
I ...
We have chosen this itinerary mostly because Bocas del Toro stop - a remote destination to be reached only by boat or by plane.
Due to a alleged mechanical problem, this stop has been cancelled and we spent a whole day docked at the entrance of Panama Canal, watching cargo ships all day long - very unpleasant. There was no plan B for such a huge inconvenient - we could have docked in one beach ...
This was our 5th cruise, all previously on the Windsurf. We wanted to try one of the Windstar motor yachts and were pleased by the itinerary and departure from a U.S. port. Embarkation was seamless. And, although we could have encountered seas which were rough due to a storm in the area, it was exceptionally calm for the entire sailing.
The Star Pride is a gorgeous small ship - and only 180 ...
We chose this cruise as a 50 th wedding anniversary for these reasons: Greenland, a new, fascinating location, Newfoundland, land where my mother was born and my first visit, and my husband and I love the province of Québec and the St. Lawrence and have had great travel experiences there.
This was an extraordinary cruise by Windstar. The places visited were a great interest and love for us, ...
We cruise 3 to 4 times a year on 8 or 9 different cruise lines. We often choose Wind Star for several reasons, mostly because the average passenger count is around 150 to 200 persons. No lines, off and on in ports in minutes rather than long lines, superb dining and all suite cabins with walk in closets and double sinks. The beauty of small ship sailing is visiting ports larger ships cannot, ...
This was our first cruise with Windstar. We have cruised before on a large ship with a different cruise line. I really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere on the Star Pride. Our cabin was very comfortable and much larger then the other cruise line. We were in Cabin . The cabin is 277sq ft. It has a separate seating area with a couch and 2 chairs located next to a large window. The queen sized bed was ...
This was our second cruise on the Star Pride. It did not disappoint. The service, food, wine, cocktails and activities were excellent! Although the weather didn't cooperate for some of our destinations, the captain and crew did well to dock and/or anchor at other interesting ports/islands. The Jost Vandyke and Soggy Dollar stop was one of the highlights of the trip. We rented a car on St. Maartens ...
We're novice cruisers and made some mistakes.
The ship is very nice and comfortable. Plenty of pleasant places to park yourself... on the deck, in the library, etc. The entertainment was better than we expected for such a small ship... the entertainment director ("PJ") was great, the hotel director (Andreas) was practically a stand-up comic, and there was a musical duo and a small band with a ...
