This was our first cruise - a three day holiday cruise to Freeport and Coco Cay. This ship is clearly older and in need of renovations but not terrible by any means. Ever crew member was friendly and responsive. I found the food excellent at all times and well exceeded expectations - My Fair Lady, Chop Grill and Windjammer. Susie and Nicola as cruise directors brought a lot of energy to the entertainment and Paul Boland was the highlight. The bike tour on Freeport was average at best despite a very nice tour guide - I wish we were able to visit Nassau and had an excursion to Atlantis. Coco Cay was great - highly recommend you take the first tender off the ship as the lines get very long mid-morning and the lines are also long to get back to the boat - kills a lot of time. Definitely try the wave jet tour on Coco Cay - a blast! I heard we lucky to get to Coco Cay as the last 2 or 3 cruises could not because of the weather - caution to future travelers in December 2019. I was looking for a short cruise for warm weather and this did not disappoint. My last cruise was for 7 nights on the Allure and was too long for me. I drove down to Port Canaveral and parked at the port. Within 20 minutes, I was on the boat. As compared to boarding the Allure, this was great. The ship was a lot smaller than the Allure but it was not crowded. The gym was a little crowded in the mornings so you had to wait for a machine or equipment. Breakfast and lunch were crowded but it was manageble. The first night was very windy and the ship rocked a lot. Dramamine was necessary. The rest of the cruise was smooth. The excursions at Freeport seemed to be a rip off so I just walked around the port and relaxed on the ship. Next time I will probably rent a car and explore on my own. $70 for a day rental seems to be a better deal. Coco Cay was exactly what I needed. I rented a beach bed. The beds are on the South Beach and are the most remote of all. I rented bed #7, which is the farthest from everyone. You are provided a shuttle which is a quick ride. It would probably take 15-20 minutes to walk. They have a station nearby that will radio the shuttle to pick you up whenever you like. You are provided 2 1 liter bottles of water. There is no food available on this side so I would recommend taking the provided lunch delivered to your bed. It's nothing to write home about but it was sufficient. Next year I will probably rent the bed and also try the jet ski. By the way, when you board the ship on day one, go ahead and select your bed quickly. The island is still under development but it well hidden from view (other than when the pier). The water park should be finished this year. Hopefully it won't take away from the beach view. The buffet food was ok. There were a few things that tasted great. A lot of things were mediocre. You had water, juice, tea as your drinks available. I didn't see a need for the drink package. We took our luggage ourselves to disembark. It seemed like half the ship did the same. Once we started moving, the process was pretty quick. I was off the boat and in my are in 20 minutes. I'm going to go again next year. It will be on the Navigator. Hopefully it will be just as enjoyable. By the way, the entertainment was terrible. It was so bad, you don't feel guilty about walking out during the performance. Fortunately there were other things to do. Read Less

We decided to do our very first Christmas cruise after more than a hundred cruises. We had MTD and the food was good to excellent. Christmas Dinner was from a special menu (see Photo) and was excellent. Service was as good as we ever have had on any cruise. We did Windjammer a couple of times for breakfast and lunch. Food there was ok but it was jammed each time we were there and there were too many discourteous guests! Park Cafe was good and we had soup, roast beef sandwiches, salads and hot pressed sandwiches all of which were very good. The best part of this cruise was the Special Christmas presentations. The Cruise Director with the Singers and Orchestra led the guests and Senior Officers in several carols and a Christmas tree lighting. The Singers, Dancers and Orchestra did a 2 plus hours of Christmas theme songs and dancing. The Orchestra did a Mannheim Steamroller number that was fantastic. On Christmas Day Santa Clause gave the more than 700 children (aged 0-17) appropriate gifts. Over all this was a very good cruise and the entire crew did an excellent job keeping things upbeat and in the Christmas spirit! Embarkation and Disembarking at Port Canaveral Terminal 1 was a breeze. We use this terminal several times a year. There has been a change where the only priority lane upon entering is for Suites and Pinnacles. I use a Rollator so was allowed access into that lane. We missed CocoCay because of high seas; however, we did stay in Nassau overnight so we were there from 8AM until 130PM the following day. Read Less

Picked the cruise for the date and port. Service is very good but the staff looks exhausted. Few activities. Activities manager is not happy with annoying customers. Missed CoCoCay due to weather. RC does not advertise how many times they miss CoCoCay which is billed as the highlight of the cruise. Nassau is not good. Blue Lagoon was not well maintained and they reserve the only good part of the beach for VIP customers. The food is bland. Freshly cooked and warm but bland. Did the bottomless mimosa brunch and galley tour. It was hit and miss. Did not care about employee of the month program and it seemed like they were stalling and filling time. Mimosas were good. The food was the same food you get at lunch ... nothing special and they don’t show the menu until you sit down so you don’t know that they are giving you less for $35 per person. The cruise industry is similar to the automobile industry ... some people get good deals and others pay full price for less. The boat cannot handle rough seas. We got tossed around too much for what little winds we went through. I do not recommend. Lobster, filet, lean steak, baked potato all cost extra. When you miss COCOCAY, you get nothing extra ... you just stay on the boat. Big disappointment and loss of value when you miss the port. Old boat. Tender ports will be missed due to even the slightes storm or winds due to safety reasons. They are deceptive. Plausible Ignorance is their motto. Website is useless. Customer Service line is poorly trained. Would love to sit down with the CEO in the park cafe and share a hard as rock stale cookie and a slice of cold pizza. Ask him if it is worth $1000 per person. The comic performed at 11:30 pm on the last day of the cruise only ... too late. Missed the parade of flags because it was too crowded. Pay for room service. Pay for coke. Pay for bottled water. Ice cream tasted like cardboard. Poor value. Read Less

Something has definately changed with RC and not for the better. I have been loyal to royal however, the last few cruises with them have been terrible. My last cruise happened to be my very first in carnival and unfortunately I spent this cruise wishing I was back on the carnival ship. Our stateroom was fine, had an inside room which we prefer. Asked for an extension cord and extra pillows qnd they were provided right away. The bathroom though, is the smallest I have ever seen on a ship before. The purpose for this cruise was a burial at sea for my father. We had prior permission from RC and were told to confirm details once in ship, which we tried to do. First trip to guest services, we met a lovely attendant who took our info and assured us an officer would be in contact later that day with the arrangements. That dudnt happen. 2nd trip to guest services, had to explain the whole thing over again and then said we could have the service anytime that day between 9am and 6pm., we chose 11am. 3rd trip to guest services, with my fathers cremains in tote, had to wait nearly an hour because they were in the middle of a guest services meeting. Seems like they either could have changed their meeting time or just informed us the meeting times so as we wouldnt interrupt them. But neither of those things happened, so here we are waiting for an hour, on christmas day, to bury my father at sea. We had a small ceremony and the officer called our coordinates to the captain who made a very nice certificate with the coordinates on it and it was signed by the captain himself. I must say that was unexpected and a very nice touch! Much appreciated! The dinner service in main dining room was terrible, food was cold and tasteless and not much variety. It seemed like they were a bit overwhelmed the first night, I had to duck and cover most of the time to avoid being hit by reaching elbows. We ate there 2 nights and in the windjammer the last 2 nights. Windjammer was much better. I do have to say that I found the cruise director cruisin susan to be very lackluster and boring. Didnt find her funny nor entertaining at all. I watched the love and marriage show which is usually very funny, but this time around, it was a snooze fest. She really made me miss my cruise director from carnival, Alex was the best cruise director I have ever seen. She could learn a few things from him. I'm ready to book my next cruise but not feeling so loyal to royal any longer as things have been on a steady decline. For me this cruise was a swing and a miss! Read Less

We did the three-night Enchantment cruise right before Christmas and we had a lovely time. We’ve been on the Enchantment several times before, as we are local to Florida. It is a quick, easy trip. The ship is still in great shape and after we were onboard, we did not have any problems with our sail (more on check-in procedures later). I would recommend this ship to anyone new or experienced with cruising. We had great service in the MDR and the waiters did their best to move along the long dinners for our children. We had great service in the Windjammer on the first day! We had several waiters ask to grab us drinks!! In over 15 years, and over 15 cruises, I’ve never been served a drink in the Windjammer. It was a pleasant and wonderful surprise. The kids club was great and our daughter asked to attend each night. The Diamond Lounge had great service from Courtney, thank you! We opted for Atlantis in Nassau to see the Christmas decorations. We decided to take the local water taxi for $4 each. Once we made the mistake, I remembered we made this mistake several years ago. The water taxi is slow and the “guide” is very, very, very, very loud during his “tour.” We were just looking for a cheap activity. We won’t do this again. The real taxi is the same ($4 per person) and is a lot less painful. Or, we should have just gone to Cable Beach on the #10 bus, which is always a good time. We love Coco Cay. The additions are coming along nicely. Although, I’m not sure how they are going to make their May 2019 deadline. The waterpark is far from complete. We noticed signs for the hotair balloon rides to begin in December, 2018… but the balloon was nowhere in sight. We opted for the snorkel and sandbar excursion (offered by RCI, with local vendor). The snorkeling was great; the snorkel guide was very knowledgeable. But, the best part was the sandbar. The water was relaxing and beautiful! If you are thinking about this Coco Cay excursion, you can search YouTube for videos and they also have a facebook page. I would recommend this excursion to anyone, families, singles, anyone. It was great and only took about 2 hours. We were back in time for lunch. Which reminds me, Coco Cay has really improved their lunch buffet. It is the same BBQ as always, but the food is great and they added some great selections too. Well done! The casino onboard was fun and the nice low minimum of $5 at the craps pit was a nice surprise. I also visted the spa onboard and my treatment was just ok... but nice to be in the spa none-the-less. I would wait to book once onboard, as there were lots of specials. The only complaint I have was the “expedited” check-in procedure at Port Canaveral. I would not waste your time checking in online, printing your set sail pass, and loading your security pictures. If you choose to still do all this….. I would simply show up and ask to be in the normal, upstairs, (not “expedited” check-in line in port). Silly me, I checked in, uploaded security pics, and printed all our documents. It was a waste of time. In the new, just started, “expedited” check-in procedure at Port Canaveral, you are herded into an “expedited” line. Personally, I really like entering in the Diamond line. I was unable to and was herded with the rest of the bunch. The “expedited” technology is NOT ready for prime time. It was very dark in the “expedited” line, so there was MUCH difficulty scanning our documents and taking our pictures (never mind I had already done this at home when I checked in online before the cruise). When I complained that I had already uploaded our pictures (and could see them in the system), it was explained the photos needed to be rotated and retaken. There is not a rotate feature when you upload your own photo. As I said, the technology is not quite there yet. Instead of being greeted by a nice person at the nice desks upstairs, we are just standing around in the “expedited” area, waiting for our documents to be uploaded property in the dim room. It was explained this was a very new procedure when I complained several times. We were not given our Sea Pass cards. It was explained we would get our Sea Pass cards in our cabin when it was available. I thought this was a huge inconvenience for the “expedited” line. I always like to have my Sea Pass card stamped with a hole punch for my bracelet. Therefore, this was not possible in the “expedited” line. Then, we were given a “gold pass” so that we could by-pass the check-in line and enter right on to the boat (this proved NOT to be the case, as we ended up passing everyone else was in the normal, fast check-in line upstairs). Since we didn’t have Sea Pass cards, we were hassled for having papers and two different people asked us for our “gold pass.” Another way this new procedure is not ready yet. Then, one of our children’s picture did not appear when trying to board the boat, even though I uploaded it several days before, and it was just retaken moments ago. They wanted us to leave our child while they sorted it out, which was asinine to leave a five year old. Although I had been very vocal thus far, this is where my husband drew the line and started to get angry. We asked for Security and it got sorted out quickly thereafter. Bottom line… if anyone encourages you to enter the “expedited” check-in line, ask to just proceed upstairs to the normal, old fashion check-in. You will save yourself a heap of time and frustration and you won’t have to wait for your Sea Pass card. Thank you for letting me vent. If I saved at least one family this frustration, I’ll be happy. But, I am happy to report, surprisingly, our Sea Pass cards were in our cabin several hours later… without a hole punch, but there none-the-less. Allow yourself plenty of time when disembarking, as the line took about an hour, unless your off the boat very, very early. Read Less

We were originally booked on Majesty OTS and when Royal moved her to Tampa we were placed on Enchantment OTS and told there would be a cost to move with the ship so we decided to check her out. We missed the fact that there was no C & A Top Tier Party. Also no champagne at the Captain's welcome. The weather was bad so we missed Coco Cay and we were told that we could not go there on our sea day since there was another ship calling there. However I have been on more than one cruise where more than one ship has called at Coco Cay at the same time. We did the Rainbow Reef snorkel in Nassau and it was great! The service was good both in the dinning room, windjammer, and at the bars. We did find that many of the tables in the lounges needed to be better wiped down, most were sticky around the edges and underneath. We have another trip on her because of the ship change and hopefully things will be better. Read Less

This was our 3rd Royal Caribbean cruise and our second onboard this ship - our maiden cruise was onboard this ship and it was great. 3 years later the ship is old and worn. First issue was the weather, it was windy and cold when we left Cape Canaveral and didn't much improve over the next 3 days, so we missed the CocoCay stop. I understand this is not something RC controls and it's really a minor factor in this review. Lesson learned... don't book eastern Caribbean in December. WE selected "My Time" dining based on experience with it on a Princess cruise, however it's not really the same. What it allows you to do is change dinner reservations during the cruise, assuming what you want is available. Otherwise you are pushed to he side and seated as the cruise decides. Another lesson learned. The ship itself is tired and worn with all panels lifting away. The dinner menu is pretty much uninspired and food quality is OK. The absolute worst part was our cabin, 8150, it's below the Solarium pool deck and under a crew work area. We received a free upgrade to a junior suite and thought "good deal". As momma told me "there's no such thing as a free lunch". This has to be the noisiest room on the ship. We were kept awake all night on the first night with bumps, thuds, and metal-on-metal scraping over us starting about 2am. I mentioned it to our attendant and he told us to call "O" and complain. On the second night it started up again and was told they would investigate. It stopped about 3:30am. On the 3rd night it started again about 2am and once again I called. It stopped about 3 am. Tee next morning I went to the Guest desk and lodged a formal complaint. They gave me a 25% credit off this fare for use on another RC cruise (should have been 50-75%. I was assured that they would close the work area during our final night to stop the noise. Actually it did stay quiet until about 4 am, then it started up again. However, that brought to light another problem... a repeated creaking sound over the bed area. Hard to describe, but I thought my wife was wheezing. Turns out with all the other noises, this one was masked. Anyway, 4 sleepless nights and we're debating whether another RC cruise is worth the gamble. Read Less

This cruise was with my siblings for my 50th birthday. The staff was awesome and so was the food. We enjoyed just sitting in the bars or playing the many trivia games that were offered. I couldn't have asked for a better trip. We rented a cabana on cocoa cay and had a great time. We did not do any shore excursions in Nassau. The ship is older and smaller but I found it to be very enjoyable. I would defiantly cruise on the Enchantment again. The food was excellent even in the Windjammer which I know can be questionable at times. I was very excited to see a stir fry station one night. It was fresh and delicious. We met some great people and Nicola did an awesome job keeping everyone excited and engaged in the games that were offered. This was exactly the kind of trip I was hoping for to celebrate my birthday. Read Less

Best crew i've experienced. Friendly and outgoing. Enjoyed food and entertainment. Nice service. I look forward to trying royal caribbean's largest ships. Solarium was a highlight of our cruise if you don't want the noise and crowds of main pool. Great cafe there. Made to order sandwiches and salads. Buffet good, but breakfast and lunch same each day. Embarkation day you hear announcements saying if your done eating, get out. Lol. Too small for crowd waiting to eat. Dining room menu stayed the same with slight changes nightly. service good. Enjoyed entertainment throughout the ship. Pleasantly surprised. Coco cay will soon be great. Completely being redone. Wave pool, fresh water pools. Adult only beach. Water slides. Balloon rides. New restaurants and bars. Royal caribbean has a nice app. Zoom internet is fastest on the ocean. You can stream movies so fast. Only thing is i wish there were more activities. Read Less
