It had its bright spots, few rough patches, but a wide swatch of mediocrity

This is only my 4th cruise. And i had a great time solo parenting with 3 kids. But nothing was particularly OMG breathtaking, either. The ship is older, but still neat as a pin. The staff were mostly all friendly, all the time, but when they werent looking i noticed they too has a sense of wear-n-tear/exhaustion, too. I booked exursions early, thru the ship, and that was worth it for ...

This was our 4th cruise with RCI and, after the last disastrous trip with them in June 2016, we would have cancelled this one had we not already paid the non-refundable deposit. So the trip went ahead. First the good points: Having read some negative reviews of the ship and its apparent age, we were very pleasantly surprised to find that she was in fact up to the standard of the two other ...

I must say that the ship was very lean and maintained even with the crack in the rear end. Service was average but with all the cut backs I can see why. Food was 75% the same every meal and not really of the best quality. I must agree with others who mentioned the TV programs being the same over and over again. Nice to have Royal in Baltimore but Royal needs to kick it up a notch. This is the ...

My adult niece and I both live in Maryland so sailing from Baltimore eliminated a long drive or a flight. We drove in the morning of cruise, arriving around 11:30am. Dropping of luggage, parking car and entering cruise terminal took all of 10 minutes. There was no wait to reach the security screener other than guests in front of us had to dig for their set sail and passports. Once inside we ...

good value for the dollar we got two holidays in one trip. The dining was our only issue, the waiter was not very friendly or sociable just stuck to his job and staff was under sized as our waiter's helper had 4 tables to handle when they normally have two . My request on first dining seating for raw sugar was quickly shot down as our waiter said they were out of that kind and should be getting ...

Grandeur Has Sunk Compared To Last Year

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Grandeur of the Seas

I was on the Granduer for Christmas just last year. The only difference is that last year RCCL offered 2 week long cruises over the holidays, when this year it was 1 12-day cruise over both Christmas and New Years. Compared to last year: 1. Qualtiy of food drastically went down. 2. Dinner menue selections were repetitive. 3. Quality of both dining room and cabin steward service ...

Ship is old & dirty

Choose cruise to be with family! Unfortunately, we all made a terrible choice of ship and cruise line. 12 days of toilets flushing "sometimes", terrible food and nothing to do while at sea was worst experience. We have cruised 15+ times but only twice on RC. Never Again!! This ship needs to be retired! The staff could care less in responding to requests. Note, these are the opinions of ...

First, we enjoyed our cruise but the service and food was poor. The truth is this was a very mixed experience. First the good, 1. This is the friendliest ship at sea. The passengers are very engaing and fun, real down to earth people. 2. The cruise was very cheap. 3. The Diamond lounge. 4. Our cabin was ecellent, if a bit worn. The bad, 1. At times the food was uneatable, ...

Ship too small and too old

Since a friend who cruises with us says I am too negative, here are the good points 1. Our cabin steward Chris was Fantastic, He was undoubtedly the hardest working person on the ship. Any requests we made were promptly responded to, and he seemed to be always available. 2. Most of the staff were fairly helpful and pleasant to deal with. Now the rest of the story. The ship is just ...
