We have traveled with Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises many times and they have always been great for their food. We are Diamond Members and this time on our cruise from March 4-11 from Tampa Fl., the food at the main dining room was awful. We have never seen such poor quality on any of our other cruises. We feel that they have lowered their standards because they want the passengers to go ...
We chose this ship because it went out of Tampa where airfare was half of what it was to any other east coast port. It was the next to the worse cruise I have every been on. Smelly, limited menu, little in organized activities other than trivia and infomercials. Can't believe they still do the potentially dangerous belly flop contest, and the worn out Newlywed game. How about Mother and ...
Traveling from the Northeast we went down to Tampa a few days before departure.
Embarkation was normal. Smooth and efficient. Boarded around Noon and cabins opened at 1pm. Used that hour to go to the MDR and find our table. That saved time at first seating.
With some diligence and incredible luck we were able to score the Royal Suite on this cruise. Room was fantastic tons of space for the ...
I will keep this review short and sweat. Have hesitated sailing on the smaller RCCL ships and held off doing so until this past week. I will not bore you with the usual type of review of the ships but instead will tell you how fantastic the entire crew was, how smooth she handled in the rough seas and how we wished we had sailed on her earlier. The staff was the friendliest we have ever seen and ...
Cruising out of Tampa is much more convenient for us than the hassle of going to Miami or Lauderdale. Unfortunately Tampa can only handle smaller ships because it's port is unable to accommodate the larger vessels. Smaller ships simply do not have the ability to provide all the amenities that many cruisers prefer.Tampa is doing itself a great disservice by not improving their capacity to handle ...
I'm a fairly new cruiser, this was my 4th, but it was my favorite so far and we are booked again for next year (and wishing it was sooner).
We traveled as a family of 4, 2 adults with kids 14 and 4. This ship was so family friendly with active teen and kids areas. There were usually 15-20 kids in the teen area at any time and 8-15 in the preschool area during most sessions.
The Windjammer ...
The ship is in great shape for its age. Of the few cruises we have been on (all from other lines) this has been the oldest but best maintained.
It is a smaller ship, with less activities, shops and likely not the top of the line shows of the larger ships.
They also like having shows late at night. 11 pm is too late IMO when you have a 7 am port.
We stayed with the Windjammer buffet for ...
I especially liked the entertainment. They had one big production show and 4 other smaller shows with the last two shows having the production cast included; They also had two late-night risque comedy acts. All the shows were excellent high energy presentations.
I also liked the food at both the buffet and the formal seating restaurant. My partner complained about the food on the buffet being ...
Worst cruise ever!
Went to 4 sit down breakfasts, not one was served correctly. Cold soggy potatoes, overcooked eggs, wrong meat served, on and on. On the last time I put the plate back on the servers station. Went to the buffet.
Food in Windjammer was terrible. Meat was overcooked and tasteless, soup were watery. Mainly ate pizza as this was one of the few items tolerable. Tables ...
My wife and I went on this cruise with another couple and everyone had a great time. We're in our mid- to late-fifties and enjoy an active lifestyle and this ship had everything that we needed. We prefer the smaller ship because its not too crowded and its easier to move about. We booked the cruise about three weeks prior to sailing and we got a competitive price. The whole trip was a good value; ...
