We sailed on the Vision of the Seas the week of Feb 27 and splurged for a Jr Suite for the first time. Check in was a breeze as we got the “easy pass” line because we had booked a suite. We booked this cruise over 8 months ago. After having sailed aboard the Freedom class ship on our last cruise, we decided to scale back to a smaller, less 'busy' ship. Vision of the Seas fit the bill perfectly. The refurb it underwent in 2013 really brought everything up to snuff. It is clean, beautifully decorated, and fully operational. This was my 5th cruise, 3rd one with Royal Caribbean. We chose this ship based on the dates and ports that would be visited. This ship lacked many of the amenities of the other ships I was on. Something as simple as shampoo was not provided (although our cabin steward graciously brought both shampoo and conditioner - he was a bright spot!)

Left PHL at about 9:50 AM on Feb. 5 after a very wet 1” snowfall. I was so afraid the flight would be delayed or canceled, but the airport was functioning normally. We had a very smooth flight to Tampa and was greeted by a bright, sunny 60 degree day. The taxi fare was a flat $25 from the airport to downtown Tampa. We arrived at the terminal about 11:30. We waited in the holding room for 15-20 minutes waiting for our group number to be called. Once called, we were on the ship in 5 minutes.
The ship itself was smaller than any other RCCL ship that we've been on - this was our 18th cruise. It lacked the Champagne Bar, much smaller balcony and no in room checking out the sea pass account. Not major ...
