Our first cruise ever

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Ovation of the Seas

We chose ovation of seas for convenience to sail off from Sydney. This is our first cruise experience. Hats off to the Staff , they were dedicated and smiling ! Balcony rooms are reasonable. The activities are very good. Not many movies though. Screening movies in the pool deck is a waste of time. Too noisy. We enjoyed everything on board the cruise except food. We are vegetarians. The food was ...

It was our first boat cruise ever and I have to say I loved it all, yes it was a short trip and we just wanted to see if we will enjoy it and if it was for us. Totally recommended highly. Can't wait for our next boat cruise coming in 2 weeks. I will do it all over again. The food was great, and there was plenty to pick from. Entertainment was amazing, and the boat layout was beautiful. Cabins were ...

We booked this holiday a year ago. We booked five cabins all balcony. I have been on 10 + cruises but first time with Royal Caribbean. The food was hospital food absolutely terrible. The buffet at lunch never changed, if you a vegetarian or have any dietary requirements do not go on this ship unless you want to lose weight. We never got to go on the bumper cars rollerskating or rock wall because ...

Just a blast to be back on a cruise, 2nd time on the Ovation and enjoyed both times. The ship is in very good shape, built 2016 & dry docked 2019 for maintenance, both ship and crew are very good. many of the crew were new to cruising joining the boat a month before. Embarkation was horrendous again, delayed 3 hours this time I believe due to Covid & delays escorting passengers off the ship & ...

1st Time on Ovation - Not sure its for us

Don't let the title put you off - Ovation is a great ship, and we will cruise on her again, but just not our style (maybe we are getting old!) But to start at the beginning - we had a number of reservations cancelled due Covid (like many) and we ended up booking a Grand Suite on Ovation to get back to cruising; to do that in Oz (a Covid hangover, wanted it to actually occur); to treat ourselves ...

Big ships not for us

We were booked on Radiance which of course was cancelled so we had to transfer to Ovation. This will be our first and last time on such a big ship. Embarkation was not bad as we got on at Sydney reasonably quickly. Cabin and steward excellent though only one cabin service a day now. If cabin cleaned in morning no night time turn down. Food was acceptable perhaps they could work on presentation a ...

We chose this cruise to New Zealand because it was the first time since Covid we could actually cruise. The crew were really nice and friendly. How ever we didn’t buy the drink package and used our sea pass for purchases which automatically came off our credit card. Before we left the cruise we had zero dollars owing.then two days later the sum of $3483.25 was taken out of our credit card ...

Don’t do it

Zero communication from staff regarding the actual tender times and availability of shuttles etc. Be prepared to get up early and deal with their lies. Royal Caribbean act shocked when alot of passengers rock up to leave the ship and leave you hanging for hours. Best estimate for actual disembarking of the ship is 2 hours after they tell you. If you (against advice) set foot on boat I recommend ...

We chose this cruise, as it was the first time that I was embarking on trip from my home port. No need to fly to a destination, no need to worry about weight limits or currency exchanges. I was going to depart Sydney on the harbour and through Sydney heads at sunset, beautiful. That's where the vision ended. The entertainment on board was virtually non existent as we were appointed ...
