Viking Sky’s ‘Barcelona to the Baltic and Beyond’
"We have just returned from the Viking Sky and have some very positive, and some negative observations. Embarkation was painless, and when we told the customer service desk that Air France ‘lost’ our luggage,..."Read More

The highlight of this adventure was the the opportunity to visit the Holy Land. Exceptional service by all staff. You could really tell they enjoyed their work. I did not care for the "class" system on Viking where people who paid more for their cabins got special privileges like early choice of excursions and dining reservations. The free excursions seemed rather superficial with bus rides and ...

We recently cruised the Western Caribbean on the Viking Sky, leaving Miami on January 10. This was our first ocean cruise with Viking. We had done two previous river cruises with Viking and liked their product, and we were looking forward to trying their ocean cruises. Overall, it was our 11th ocean cruise. We had three prior cruises on Star Clippers, two each on Carnival, NCL and Celebrity, ...

We have sailed Viking Ocean on 3 previous cruises. We love their ships - the size, the understated décor, no casino or sales of jewelry and other junk. This itinerary really appealed to us as we love history and the cruise covered Greek Antiquities, Crusaders Castles, Biblical locations and Pompeii. The most disappointing aspect of the cruise was the cuisine. This was our 4th Viking Ocean ...

If you enjoy the outdoors, the ports on this cruise won’t disappoint. My husband and I hiked, rode bikes, climbed waterfalls, in short, took advantage of the landscapes offered in Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Norway. We planned most of our own shore excursions by ourselves or with a small group. We both hate large coach tours, so most shore excursions offered by Viking were not an option. ...

We have been on four Viking River cruises (China, Russia, Passage to Eastern Europe, Windmills and Tulips) and two Viking Ocean Cruises (From the Caribbean to the Amazon and Western Mediterranean Explorer). We make our choices of cruises based on itinerary. We have traveled on brands of ships with 50 and 100 passengers which we enjoyed very much. The only cruise ship bigger than a Viking Ocean was ...

We wanted to see Spain and Portugal. This Cruise fit the bill. We don’t especially like big ocean cruises, so we liked the smaller ship idea. I can’t really fault the ship, but since we have only been on one other “ocean” cruise, it certainly was far better than the ocean cruise we were on previously. Unfortunately, we have been on three Viking River Cruises and found ourselves comparing our ...

Traveling with friends and an it was an itinerary we wanted to pursue; Greece, Cyprus, Israel and Italy. The room was very nice, cabin steward mostly attentive and helpful, closet space very adequate, happy to have the safe very comforting to be able to lock things up. The dining experience was generally good, I especially like that there is no extra charge for any of the specialty venues. The ...

Viking is suppose to be top of the line. We have been on a River Cruise which was wonderful. Maybe it was the itinerary, but was not up to what I was expecting. The cabin was very nice. The ship was beautiful and very clean. Public rooms were nice. No bar available for my husband to watch college football, however, I was not surprised about that. My husband was hopeful. No more cruising ...

We chose this cruise based upon a friend’s recommendation. We were happy that we weren’t being nickeled and dimed throughout the cruise. Don’t need a casino, and liked that there weren’t noisy kids running around. Cabin service was exceptional. Service in the alternative restaurant Manfredi’s was also exceptional (the food was great too). Didn’t make it to the Chef’s Table (had heard the menu ...

This cruise offered the prospect of seeing a number of places we had not seen before. The ship was state of the art and very new. The food was of excellent quality. Some aspects of the service were poor. Our first tour of Rome overran and there was no lunch available when we got back. I got the feeling that the organisers were having problems coping wth the larger numbers on the ocean ship ...
