Caribbean Regent Cruise

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Seven Seas Explorer

After having been on passenger ships dating back to the Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary as a child and being on Ships from the the Emerald Seas, The Nordic Prince in the the 70's to the evolutionary changes in cruising today, I am familiar with origins and changes in the industry and appreciate its revolution. Most recently, we have sailed on both Princess and Celebrity with accommodations ...

We had been lucky enough to sail on the Explorer on the second leg of her inaugural cruise in September 2016. We thought the service and facilities could not be improved upon but how wrong could we be. There has been some fine tuning such as changing the time of the evening shows to 9.30 which allows everyone to eat before seeing them and more use of The Cafe with permanent barristas in there - ...

HOW DARE YOU COMPLAIN!

I researched the small luxury cruise market for a year. All of them. On advice from an advisor, I took a deep dive in Regent and with excursions included we concluded this was the best value proposition. Having been with Silver Sea (and loving it), the a' la carte excursions were a budget ding we didn't appreciate since they were totally uncoordinated with the boat. Explorer out of Miami ...

We booked this cruise line on the expectation of a beautiful, new ship and the level a service and attention that we experienced on Regent in past years. Wife needed a wheelchair when we boarded, which was available once we were on the ship. BUT, I was carrying three heavy bags and no one came to help. I had to drag the bags down to the lower level floor for safe keeping, When the room was ...

Was on Regent last year for Eastern Caribbean and luckily did not repeat(tired of it been doing for too many winters now ) as the hurricane had ruined all the eastern ports. Interesting ports...still like the eastern itinerary ..better, Too old to go snorkling and do water sports. Weather was terrible except for 2 days. So unusual. Have been traveling in the Caribbean for many years and ...

Much against our judgement we were swayed to try a competitor to Regent Seven Sea Cruises. For us sadly it wasn’t the best decision. What has become apparent is that most cruise lines do the least that they can get away with. Whilst Regent do the most that they possibly can do for their clients. As soon as you book with Regent, they take total charge of your booking. Regent, take all the ...

Outstanding Cruise

Of the 22 cruises we have experienced, this was the Best! The entire crew was absolutely first class. Their command of the English language was very impressive. When you are able to communicate as well as have the occasional joke with foreign crews---this certainly enhanced our trip. I was onboard six days before I ever had to ask someone to refill my coffee---an example of how they monitored ...

Good But Some Glitches

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Seven Seas Explorer

We chose this cruise to escape from the harsh NYC winter, check out the much-touted Explorer and celebrate our anniversary. This was our first Regent cruise, previously sailed on Seabourn, Paul Gauguin and Ponant (the latter with Tauck). First thing we noticed was the elderly (75+) demographic and lack of diversity among passengers. We are 60, fun loving, laid back and friendly. Didn't get to ...

Let me say first we have been on several cruises as well as river cruises and we've found Regent to be the best; now we haven't been on Seven Seas but really enjoy ourselves on Regent. I read a couple of the other reviews and I must say the one cramugen that didn't like it and wont be back, has just been spoiled or expects too much or just had some bad luck. I can't say enough good things ...

The ship was great. Unfortunately, the weather not so much so (but wasn't within Regent's control.) The cabin was spacious, particularly the bathroom area. The dinning was excellent in all of the dinning rooms. The staff was always attentive but never rushing. I particularly liked the wine selection. The listed wines were very good but the wine steward was always quick to offer other options ...
