Our first transatlantic cruise couldn't have been better! The Reflection was new, our crew always efficient, happy and helpful, and our accommodations roomy. The 16 day cruise explored the Canary Islands (Tenerife and Lanzarote), Barcelona, Spain, Toulon (Provence), France, Livorno (Florence/ Pisa), Italy, and Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy. On the plus+ side, all crew members made it their personal goal to extend every courtesy to us from our cabin steward (Alfredo) to our dinner wait staff (Angel and Jose) and others. When any issue arose that required action, it was handled quickly and pleasantly.

The entertainment booked for the cruise was phenomenal, each one better than the one before it (only exception was the male singer who couldn't stay on pitch and seemed full of himself). Daily activities (zumba, line dancing, brain trivia games, swimming and hot tubs, choir, bridge, wine tasting, movies, speakers, and cooking demos made the time go quickly and pleasantly. We opted not to buy a wine package that limited our selections and instead put money on a card we used in the 'Cellar Masters' Enomatic wine dispensing machines. These devices allowed us to choose a taste, 1/2 glass, or full glass of wine from an ever changing selection of great wines. The machines were open 24/7 and we took our wines ANYWHERE we wanted on board; no restrictions.

The food in each of the restaurants were FABULOUS! Even the 14th deck Oceanview Cafe catered to every culinary desire. Our prepaid shore excursions were the only less-than-excellent aspects of our cruise. Our 4x4 Tenerife Adventure was fully refunded after we, and many others who participated, voiced our concern regarding issues encountered during the excursion. We expected off-roading and more remote vistas. Instead we travelled to the same locations and over the same roads, in far less comfort, and for twice the price as did those passengers who chose the tour buses. Our trip to Cinque Terre was 'rained out' and proved extremely dangerous when we had to travel between only two of the five hillside cities by boat in rough seas and utterly miserable conditions. Celebrity compensated us 50% for this excursion. Our advice to you is: when something is not right, put it in writing. Also, when an action or activity is very good, let Celebrity know that too.
