The lirica is a beautiful ship. Decorated like a 4 star hotel, plenty of marble, brass and glass. The ship is kept in pristine condition. The outside decks were powerwashed each morning which caused the early deck walkers to tired on wet decks. Moving the power wash back one hour from 5:30 AM would help. Now I must mention a few negatives. On our voyage The European Union made up the majority of passengers. This left the English language speakers in the minority. I was fully aware that this was an Italian Ship, but i was surprised by the large number of Germans,French,Italian Etc. The ships officers, and supervisory personnel seemed to favor their fellow Europeans this was most evident in the dining rooms. The food was uninspired. On my previous 11 cruises the chef was brought out introduced his credentials loudly acclaimed. Not on the Lirica. As far as I can recall he was neither seen or his professional training listed. The food seemed to be poor in quality. The orange juice was similar to Tang.On the other hand the Bread and Ice Cream were quite good. The entertainment for a multi-lingual audience was uninspired. he ship must have been conserving fuel because the ship was late arriving at many ports which meant shorter stays.I can't understand how MSC can hope to win a niche in the American market.I know the language can also be found in all inclusive Caribbean resorts. The other hurtle for MSC Lirica is to quit cutting corners. The ship ran out of draft beer,CokeLight, and various food items. They had time to replenish before the last 2 sea days. They didn't. This was my 12th,and probably my last cruise.I was disappointed in my choice. One of the most attractive ships I ever sailed on, but also the most disappointing trip,
