This was our 3rd cruise on Windstar, Barbados & Tahiti were the first two. My husband and i were so impressed with the past Windstar cruises that we vowed to only cruise with windstar for the rest of our lives. This vow has been severely broken since our Costa Rica cruise this past December of 06. Windstar has really fallen in all areas and standards! To begin we understood that children were discouraged from this type of cruise,, but this cruise had many!! Especially loud and obnoxious were the 10 to 14 year old boys (6 of them collectively) that followed us on every excursion! This did not accent a "romantic" cruise for couples!! There were 7 collective teenage girls on the boat, but at least they behaved. The excursions were not "to die for". On the third day my husband & I and several other teenagers went on an ATV Jungle tour where I saw two young girls almost tip over off a cliff with their very dangerous ATV! My husband and experienced 42 yr. old fell off one and tour his ACL and needs surgery. The excursion ended very late that day(5:45pm) back on the boat. The Doctors office closed at 6:00pm. We had a $200 per person dive the next day that we had to cancel due to my husbands injury. The dive masters said they had to charge us $400 anyways because we didn't make the cancelation time and needed a doctors report to get some of the money back, but the doctor wouldn't see us till the next day because it was just past her office hours or she would see my husband for $95 out of her sick call. Needless to say they tried to nickle and dime us for everything, but sure wanted extensive reports for their insurance! We spent the whole next day working this all out with the manager and elevating my husbands knee with ice the remainder of the cruise. apparently they are thinking of canceling the ATV tour because too many people are getting hurt...Daaa! We remember from last cruise that the wait staff was very attentive. I saw none of that this cruise!! i had to get up from my lunch table and dinner table several times to get help this cruise! We were appalled at this! Even the food was bland and not memorable. Many people complained about the poorly planned excursions as well. The ship is getting old and the service and destinations have lost its "magi"! We will not be going with Windstar again.... unless they get their act together and maybe return to Tahiti
