Sail Date: Jan 2014

This was a last minute booking two weeks ago but we are so glad we did. We got to Southampton at 10.45 am but security didn't happen until after 11.30am. Boarding was onto deck 5 which isn't spectacular but once you go up a deck the ambiance changes.

We chose to go up to the Garden buffet for lunch and had a very nice soup, salad (and pudding). The staff were very helpful and in plentiful supply.

We then set off to find our cabin which was by far the best we have had as I will explain below.

Cabin Review

We had the most wonderful Accessible Cabin (by choice) on Deck 12. The cabin was huge with plenty of space and loads of storage space which disabled people could actually use. The balcony was quite small and a wheelchair user with legs might struggle to turn around and get back into the cabin. The bathroom was brilliant with toilet seat at 18 inches and a proper pull down bench and not a tiny seat that normally only accommodates one cheek. Only minor point was lack of shelf space in the bathroom but shampoo and shower gel are provided. This was the best we have been in to date, well done NCL.
