Although we have cruised many times this was only the second time we had been on Princess and it was chosen due to the itinary. It did not disappoint. We had six days on the river visiting four ports most big towns or cities but my personal favourite was Boca de Varleria - a small riverside village which as very welcoming. This and the other stops gave us quite an insight into Amazonian life. Outside the Amazon there were stops at Tobago, St Lucia, St Martin and a cruise around Devils Island.

The Pacific Princess is only a relatively small ship with 670 passengers and with a country club atmosphere and so it was easy to make friends. It also enabled us to get into some of the smaller ports which were less touristy.

The food and service on the Pacific Princess was outstanding. In fact it was the best food we have ever had on a cruise line. We had a drinks package (non alcoholic) which worked out to be very good value. However the ship itself could do with a refurbishment as the paintwork is very rusty in places and the pool needs attention also. The hot tubs were not really working properly and some of the carpetting needs replacement.

Cabin Review

The cabin was comfortable with adequate storage. The bathroom was the only drawback having just a small shower with a curtain that stuck to you when wet. The balcony was a good size though not really adequate for eating as the table was too small.
