Sail Date: Feb 2014

We are a late 50's couple travelling with two friends of same age and sailed on the Glory for the second time in 3 years. We booked back to back eastern and western Carribean cruises, with the east being the first week. We are 10 time cruisers with the majority being with Carnival. Embarkation on this cruise was the WORST EVER!!!!!!! From arrival at port to getting onto the ship was over 90 minutes in duration. Our balcony cabin was situated portside forward on deck 11. It was a great location for us because of the quiet setting close to the serenity deck, fitness center, and spa.

Once aboard, we found the entire staff to be beyond spectacular. They are cleaning, wiping, sanitizing, and working 24/7. All were very friendly and professional, and I would like to acknowledge two in particular. The maitre' D, Cbasa (Chubby) is without question the most competent and charasmatic person I have ever met at sea. Our room steward named "Super Duper" was fantastic. He exceeded expectations in every way.

We did not use ship excursions as the ports have been visited by us numerous times in the past. We have to agree with many other reviewers that the quality of the dining experience in the Platinum and Golden dining rooms has deteriorated significantly from years gone by. Not that it was bad, but just not as impressive as it once was. The wait staff were as phenomanal as they ever were, but the food selection and quality has regressed. Guy's burgers was a plus, and the Lido deck buffet was okay for breakfast and lunches.. The Blue Iguana Cantina and Fish and Chip Place were not visited. We ate at the Emerald Room steakhouse twice and really enjoyed the food quality there.

Cabin Review

Cabin # 1116. Nicely appointed ammenities with all of the comforts and needs of home. Side balcony not as big as aft balconies but certainly useable and efficient for our liking. Suitcase fit nicely under the comfortable bed. Shower was small but had good water pressure. Storage space adequate. Everything was in proper working order.
