We left at 8:45am in a 5 passenger SUV; the day started of pc but ended up cloudy. Marty the tour driver drove us around the island explaining the various sights. He told us of the important Hollywood people he has driven, showed us houses of some of the stars, pointed out the places where certain films shown in the states were made. We stopped for lunch at an Asian stand that served shrimp. He pointed out a whale. After that we stopped at Dole Plantation.

Honolulu

One good tsunami would erase the island. The people were glad to see us mainly because we brought money plus HAL brings school supplies. The cruise director said that most people spend an hour ashore and that is what I did, just to darn hot and humid. Nice island though considering there is not water or electricity or plumbing. Good swimming but you have to watch where you swim otherwise you may end up in the Pacific.

Fanning Island

It was a nice quiet cabin but I did not like the fact that it was a bit forward, would have preferred one more in the middle. It was very convenient to the laundry room though.
