Sail Date: May 2014

This voyage was an utter shambles. Due to it being windy, the ship didn’t leave Bristol docks for 28 hours; consequently we were late arriving at several of the scheduled places to visit and two of the ports ( Oban and Stornoway) we never got to at all. We were told very little about what was happening and the receptionists were taking all the flack from disgruntled passengers.

The ship seemed to be travelling at such a slow pace, we had no hope of reaching the destinations on time and it makes you wonder if Discovery is up to the job. This is the Irish sea; we were hardly going around Cape Horn!

I would not criticise the hard working members of the crew or the food, or our accommodation. We were happy with all of these.
