This was our third Viking river cruise and they just keep getting better and better. Pick up at airport was flawless and when we arrived on board our cabin was ready and waiting. Cabin was roomy, clean as a whistle and comfortable. Throughout the cruise, the housekeeping service was excellent. Meals were well prepared, a variety of dishes was served and the desserts were fabulous! No complaints whatsoever on the dining experienc. in particular, the maitre-de each evening selected special wines for us to complment the various offerings. Tres bien!

The excursions were well planned and efficiently run. Originally, since we departed prior to April 1, we were not supposed to visit Giverney, which opens Apr. 1. However, since our cruise overlapped that date, the Program Director rearranged our itnerary so that we could indeed visit this beautiful site, where Monet lived and worked. The trip to Normandy and Onmaha Beach was breathtaking and really the emotional high point of our trip. We will never forget it. The Program Director and his staff arranged for us to participate in a moving and very special ceremony at the American Cemetery.

The crew was attentive, friendly and efficient. No request went unfulfilled and the overall cruise experience was outstanding. The Neptune is an older ship, as compared witty the new longboats, but it has an Intimacy and charm that we loved.

Cabin Review

Cabin was spacious, well-appointed and spotless.
