Started this Danube cruise in Budapest which included a stay in the Marriot hotel is well located on the banks of the river with a great bar/restaurant for river gazing. Hotel was a comfortable 4 star styled establishment. The included tours were informative and well done. Boarding the boat was painless as our bags magically arrived in our staterooms while we were touring the city. We found the organisation by Viking when it comes to logistics, in general, excellent.

Our cabin in brief was light, bright, very well designed and tastefully decorated in relaxing colours. Our stateroom also had an adequate balcony with a table & 2 chairs. We were saddened by the fact that other than 1 day (passed through locks) we sailed at night. Suitcases fit nicely under the bed so they are out of your way.

The boat is well laid out, spacious, lovely and light with great viewing from all public areas. Never felt at all claustrophobic. The crew were excellent, attentive, fast and a whole lot of fun while being most accommodating. The food at all meals was excellent. The local wines served were superb! Our farewell meal would have stood proud in any high level establishment.

Cabin Review

Cabin A -Top Deck

Very well designed cabin. More than adequate storage especially seeing how suitcases slide under the bed. Light and bright by day and night. Large TV screen but not a great deal to watch. Lounge cam is a bit of entertainment late at night though. Staterooms are tastefully decorated in soft relaxing colours. Beds are comfy and a good size. Desk area, bedside shelf and storage, full length mirror and carpeted floor. The bathroom is small but again well designed with good lighting. Shower had plenty of hot water with good pressure. The rooms are serviced while you're at breakfast. Our stateroom had an adequately sized balcony with a small table and 2 chairs. They give you 2 keycards for your cabin. A hairdryer is supplied also. Very comfortable cabin!
