Flights to and from the ship were arranged by Viking, and all went smoothly. We were greeted at Amsterdam airport by a Viking rep, and after a short delay waiting for another flight to arrive, we were whisked across the city to our ship, the Viking Alsvin.
The Alsvin is only 4 months old. On board each area is well laid out. Light streams through the huge amount of glass, and from top to bottom was kept spotlessly clean throughout the whole cruise.
We had a cabin with balcony, towards the rear of the ship. On board WiFi was not the fastest in that area of the ship, but proved adequate. Very clever design of the cabin means plenty of space for everything, including a 40” flat screen TV and fridge. Once unpacked, our 2 large suitcases slid under the bed with ease. Enough power points (110v and 230v 2-pin) to keep those camera batteries charged up. The floor in the bathroom is heated, and the air-con worked well when required.
