One of the reviewers correctly called this the marmite of the cruise world, you love it or hate it. We are in the love category. This was a fantastic cruise, fantastic staff, incredible entertainment and clean, comfortable with good food. This is the lower end of the cruise market, but we got more than we paid for with this one. I've done Italian cruise ships before and think if you just join in, you'll have a complete ball.

Embarkation/Disembarkation.

Southampton was a dream and I would love if I could get everywhere in the world this easily. You arrive at a car park, your luggage is taken from you and arrives at your cabin. We were through and on board in no time at all. It was helped by the fact the cruise we chose (Northern Europe) had multiple embarkation ports. Disembarkation was just as easy - you are given a colour, a time slot and we were up, breakfast, disembarked and home within 2.5 hours. We were off the ship and in our car within 35 mins of the time given.

Cabin Review

Cabin 1

This is an inside cabin on the 10th floor, next to the pool equipment. We had no issues at all with any noise in this cabin. We did once hear pumping next door, but that was early in the night and only on one of the evenings when we were still in the cabin in the evening. The cabin was comfortable, quiet and despite our worries about movement on the 10th floor in bad weather, when we hit bad weather we were fine. We also never heard any noise from the pool deck above. The room is in the front third of the ship and close enough to the front lifts. The pools are above so the middle lifts and stairs are not always suitable, as you have to walk down to the 9th floor to get a lift, and no lift up to 11th or 12th unless you go to either end.
