My wife and I have cruised on our on sail & powerboats for 30 years so going on a cruise ship was never an option because of the number of passengers. The Viking Long Boat was just the right fit and we loved the fact that everyone on the cruise got together,in the same dinnig room and lounge, and we were not lost in a huge group of people. We had about 180 passengers and we got to meet many of them. The crew was also small so again we got to have personal relationships. We had two captains,because 1/2 way through our cruise the first one went on Holiday. They were both great and very accessible, as was all the staff. The staff wanted to be sure we enjoyed every minute of our stay on the Ingvi. Nick Hale our program director was outstanding and really made the trip for us. Our Hotel Manager,Heike Murphy could not have been nicer.The Concierge gal was from Poland and was lovely and full of enthusiasm as was all the crew.She and my wife who is half Polish hit it off and she was most helpful in making suggestions for our next cruise. The tours were outstanding. Our pick up in Basel and our off load in Amsterdam was military precission and flawless. The food was outstanding and Nick provided an array of entertainment. As I said we cruise on our own boat so the small accomodations were no issue and the room was well appointed and we especially enjoyed the bow cam on the T.V. House keeping did an excellant job and all of the housekeeping staff were very thorough and extremely pleasant. Dinning was excellant and the fact their wer options of where to eat, especially duringthe day made for a most relaxing time as we watched the shore line pass by and observed the river traffic. We highly recommend Viking to anyone looking for and exceptional cruise and the tours that are provided
