This was an experienced crew who worked well together and knew the itinerary. All our experiences onboard were much more than satisfactory. Because the cruise was so port-intensive, we didn't have the energy to take in much entertainment or enjoy activities onboard. What we need was excellent service, good food, and a comfortable refuge after walking many thousands of steps each day ashore. This the Serenade and her crew delivered without fail.
The weather was not our friend on this cruise. After the first stop in Crete, the clouds rolled in and the waves started bouncing. We were diverted away from Mykonos, and I congratulate the captain, who quickly arranged for us to dock in Kusadasi at 5 p.m. the evening before we were expected. Thanks for the quick response - we really enjoyed the extra evening in Kusadasi!
The ship, while a little elderly, is a beauty. And it was polished, buffed and maintained like a gem. Our dining room waiters had a difficult situation (not going into details on this) and they did everything they could to make the table work out well - and it did. Hats off to them. This was a complicated situation, and they handled it really well.
Comfortable, a little cramped on the storage space for two ladies with lotsa clothes, shoes, and stuff. But we were very happy in our little home
