We were on the Quantum for the eight day January 3 sailing from Bayonne. We have been on 12 other cruises, mostly on Celebrity but also on RCCL and others.

We booked our dinner reservations ahead of time and didn’t have any real problems. We also booked Mama Mia but no others ahead of time. The down side to that was being locked into dinner reservations before we got on and not able to easily adjust to other events such as other shows, NFL playoffs (which were shown throughout the ship) or other events. I understand we could have tried to change our dinner reservations or set them up ahead of time with the other shows but (1) many people had trouble getting their reservations right let alone changing them and (2) we didn’t know how good or bad the other shows would be ahead of time.

Check in was smooth and we were on in 10 minutes. It’s not evident if you don’t know ahead of time though that you need to find a blue-shirted RCCL person with an iPad to check you in. Also, we spent about a half hour on the access road getting to the terminal. The traffic was heavy and slow.
