We flew in Barcelona a few days early to visit before our cruise. This was our fifth cruise with Princess. Our embarkation was very quick and efficient. Once on board we found our cabin easily. Our room steward was there minutes after our arrival to introduce himself and see if we needed anything. The ship is kept spotlessly clean. One thing different was the layout of the Lido deck buffet. On this ship the buffet lines are perpendicular to the ship. This breaks up the buffet in several sections and never seemed to be too crowded.
One thing that we found not to our liking was the lack of stairs mid ship. This meant the mid ship elevators were always full and one had to wait longer than usual for it. We avoided this issue by using the forward elevators as our cabin was forward. We are sailing on the Regal again on Feb15, 2015
All in all, we were generally pleased with the Regal.
The room as laid out very efficiently. Lots of room for storage. One thing we noticed is the cabin is narrower and deeper than on other Princess ships. Narrower cabins means more cabins on each deck. Deeper cabins means smaller balconys. We were very dissapointed with the balcony. We travel with another couple and there is not room for 4 people on the balcony. There is barely enough room for two. The cabin decor is very nice and there seems to be plenty of room,
