We have cruised many, many times and on all types of ships, we are more interested in the itinerary than the amenities mostly but this ship is the doss house of the cruise world - one star would be generous. You would think it's being newer and paying for a balcony suite would mean a certain level of comfort but no. Our room smelled of cigarette smoke and stale sweat from the time we walked in the door. We pointed it out to the room staff. They tried, even shampooed the sofa! but the stink remained. Even after repeated requests the sheets in our cabin were not changed for over a week. How did we know? There was a rip near the pillow on the left side of the bottom sheet!!! Eventually managed to have them changed by taking a photo and showing it to only staff member on the service desk who was at all interested in customer service. Service everywhere was rude to non-existent. The food was so bad, that this is the first cruise I have been on and lost weight. The same rotten fruit was on display day after day in the buffet and the meals in the restaurant were somewhere between ordinary and inedible. The seating in the pool area was so inadequate for the number of guests that we never got to use that space. The entertainment was also basic in the extreme and a lack of variety for such a long cruise. Although we had been on two smaller MSC ships (Poesia & Lirica) before and knew they were basic nothing prepared us for how bad this was - we will never ever cruise with MSC ever agin and advise others to give them a miss also

Cabin Review

Cabin 12

Room smelled terrible - stale tobacco and sweat and was never cleaned properly. Guests next door smoked on their balcony and it drifted in if we had the door open for some fresh air
