Day 1: Traveled from Southwest Florida arriving at the Port of Miami at around 11:30 A.M. Dropped off wife, brother and sister in law, along with luggage at the curb and had to park on the second level of the garage as the place was packed. Breezed right through security and walked right up to registration with all documents ready to go. Then we came to a screeching halt. Had to wait till noon in a long line until boarding. However when they started boarding, it only took about 15 minutes. As they were not allowing us to the cabins till 1:00 o'clock, we went to the Windjammer for one of the few meals that we ate there. Had a good lunch of the usual buffet food. The Windjammer was not crowed but most people, not knowing any better stopped at the first food stations. I went all the way to the back. The only difference is that the first two food stations have everything laid out in one long line on both side of the kitchen area. In the back the selections are divided with hamburger, hot dogs, etc. on one side, and the other selection types such as chicken, pasta, vegetables, carving station, etc on the other, with soups in the middle. All the same food, just set out different. Got to my cabin 1388 at about 1:30. This is a deck 10, D1 class, aft corner balcony and for the price it is huge. Great cabin if you don't mind the pole in the middle of the cabin. Pictures to be posted on Webshots will show why it is no problem. Link to follow. I guess now is as good a time as any to discuss the condition of the Voyager. We all know she is not a new ship and she does show her ware and tear in many places, but she is clean and shiny. Stains in the carpet here and there, little scratches, nicks, and dings all around, but unless you really go looking, you will see that she is in fine shape. The crew was always around cleaning and performing preventive maintenance. No real problems until the fresh water was shut down on Thursday for maintenance. But more on that later. The cabin was clean and the new bedding is great and comfortable. More than enough room for me and the wife, and actually seemed a little larger that the average hotel room with a large balcony with two chairs, two lounge chairs and one small table. I did bump my head on the support beam, but soon learned how to avoid it. As for the rest of the day, all the standard stuff, exploring the ship was easy as we have sailed on voyager class ships before. The Muster drill seemed to take an extra long time, then we got ready for dinner. We had early seating in the Carmen Dining Room on deck 3. The food was O.K., and I try to select items that I might not eat normally. Now is the time to try new things because if you don't care for it, you can always get something else. As for the deserts, they were exceptional. Very, very good. After dinner, we went to the Welcome Aboard Show in the La Scala Theater. Good show but as usual, too short. I then went to the Spa to get the skin on my face taken care of, very dry and peeling. My opinion, not worth it. By the time I got out, the wife was pulling me to the Casino where we promptly left our offerings. Tired from a long day, we finally partook of the comfortable bedding for a good nights sleep. End of Day One.

Day Two. Nassau Bahamas. Awoke early around 5:30 A.M. Quietly got dressed and went up to Deck 12 to walk and catch the sunrise, picked up a cup of coffee at the Cafe Promenade on the way. Not very crowded that early in the morning. Had coffee and room service breakfast delivered at eight o'clock. Nice meal on the balcony while we docked in Nassau. It was fun watching as we pulled into the harbor, spun around and backed into the slip next to the dock. We took a water taxi over to Paradise Island, I think it was $3 each to the island and $3 for the return trip. Interesting ride with a guide working for tips kept up a running commentary. Here again we left an offering to the casino gods. Back onboard by noon, for lunch in the Windjammer and the early sail away. We went back to the Spa where we each had a massage, a first for me. It was ok I guess as I had nothing to compare it to. As we expected to be up late, we crashed for a while with the visions of casino jackpots in our head. Yeah, right. After a rest, we met up with family and had a few drinks at the Pig & Whistle. Great little pub with really good music. On to dinner and good food. Did not make the Captains reception, and regretted it later as he was the best. The show that night was Broadway Rhythm & Rhyme by the Royal Caribbean Singer and Dancers. It was a good show, and I consider anyone that has the guts to get up in front of a crowd and perform, is a great entertainer. Wound up in the casino again, but this time I won a large jackpot which the wife promptly confiscated as she wanted to use MY winnings in the jewelry store onboard. No mention of what she had lost so far. We turned in well after midnight and long walks around the outside Promenade Deck.

Day Three. At Sea. Up again before sunrise walking the jogging path to get in at least one mile, five laps. Some very interesting people out that time of day. Some walking, some jogging, some taking pictures and one sleeping. Must have been a good night. After sunrise, I went back to the cabin for coffee with the wife and get ready for the day. Had breakfast in the dining room with other family members. We found that this is much more fun that room service meals. Had a very good omelet and the brothers had about a ton of bacon. Be careful what you ask for. After breakfast we went shopping and exploring. Had lunch in the dining room and met some really nice people from Norway. After lunch we went to the Meet & Mingle, where I promptly caught hell for saying something about cats on the forum for our cruise. Loved it! The ribbing that is. Also won another RCCL computer mouse with the floating ship inside. We went back to the casino and I lost $10 very quickly so I quit and went out people watching. The wife stayed and lost more money but had a good time. I went back to the cabin to read and fell asleep till the wife came in to get ready for dinner. After dinner we caught the Ice Show. Still one of the best shows on Voyager Class ships. By this time you should know that we went back to the casino and lost more money. Walked the Promenade Deck, both inside and out. Very windy but a nice way to wind down from a long day and besides the wife likes it.
