It was the best of times it was the worst of times. That's the summary of our cruise aboard the Adventure of the Seas on October 28, 2007. We were fortunate to sail with the best group of Cruise Critic members we have ever sailed with in 20 cruises. These wonderful people and the others we had the good fortune to meet in the Concierges Club and at the repeaters reception were the highlight of our cruise.

We flew in the night before and stayed at the Sheraton Old San Juan. The hotel was fine although over priced but most things are in OSJ. One of our Cruise Critic ship mates arranged for us to have a pre-cruise dinner at the Parrot Club. The food and drink were good although over priced but most things are in OSJ (you might be seeing a theme here) but the people we were about to begin our cruise with were friendly and had a great spirit. It rained all night as we were catching the tail end of what would become hurricane Noel. Our hotel lost power twice that night and once in the morning. I'm glad I packed a flashlight although my wife thought we didn't need to. Please excuse my one chance to say I was right.

We got up early Sunday and strolled around OSJ and then went back to our hotel to get our luggage and go to the ship. Our new found friends Kevin and Teresa (who we met on Cruise Critic) joined us and made our cruise very special. A quick taxi ride to the ship and priority registration as diamond members made getting on the ship a breeze.
