I still haven’t come down from my MSC Davina cruise. I, like many, was skeptical of this European style ship in American territory but boy was I pleased with this choice. We booked the Yacht Club, in my opinion the best way to travel. The room was a beautiful balcony cabin with a sitting area, large closet and gorgeous roomy bathroom. Best shower I have had on any ship, with fantastic water pressure. I am not a small person and had plenty of room in the shower/tub, if I was taller I might have a problem, over 6’3’’ could be an issue Beds were very comfy and pillows were good (we had a choice from the pillow menu). We also had a mini bar in room which the Butler kept stocked with things we chose.
From the beginning – Check in was a little slow at first, apologies were given and it really was not bad. Since we were in the YC we were escorted thru by our Butler in a small group, lead thru security and into a private lounge to a quick check in and some drinks and snacks. We arrived at about 12:30-1:00 we were on board by 1:30 and our room was ready. We met with the concierge, our personal butler and the Head Maître De for the YC restaurant Le Muse. Food was good in La Muse – issue is it’s on the other side of the ship…. Strange. I did hear they are changing that on the new ship coming in 2017.
We explored the One Lounge and bar with its stunning panoramic views from the 15th floor. They have a piano player in the evenings. We sat at the YC pool bar most days enjoying the weather and fabulous drinks. Pool and Jacuzzi were very nice and rarely crowded plenty of chairs and towels to go around.
