Our third Avalon cruise but the first on one of the new "suite ships" with the larger cabin.

This was the Burgundy/Provence cruise down the Soane and Rhone which started with a couple of days in Paris. The Hotel du Collectionneur is a very good hotel with easy access to transport, shops and restaurants. After a TGV trip to Dijon we joined the ship at Chalon-sur-Saone.

The Poetry 2 is in its second year and certainly looks and feels new. The entire crew were excellent and extremely hard-working. We were pleased to see barman Ferry who we had met on a previous cruise; he even remembered our drinks order from 18 months ago.

Cabin Review

Cabin Panorama Royal Deck

The new larger cabin layout is excellent. Comfortable bed, lots of storage space and a well equipped bathroom. The fully opening window gives you a "balcony" without losing any cabin space.

The housekeeping service is really good and the turn-down service means you return to a welcoming lit cabin after dinner.
