Disney does a lot of things right, which is why they cost a significant amount more than other cruise lines. This one however, was a bust. It was partially our fault for thinking that just because a room cost $4K it would be nice (inside state room). We are used to having a balcony or at the least, a port hole. DO NOT EVER get an inside room. It was not just us. There was a constant creaking in the walls that lasted all 7 nights. I was more stressed from sleep deprivation on this vaca and just wanted to get back to work.
So what can you do if you cannot tolerate the tiny box you are living in for a week? You get off at every port, partake in excursions and drink. Our tab for this was over $1,800 for the 7 nights. The one excursion we took was in the Grand Caymens. We departed the boat, went to the very bustling port, and got directly on another boat (convenient and nice). However, that boat proceeded to take us about 50 yards away from the port, into the dead center of about 4 other cruise ships to do our "shipwreck snorkeling." There was nothing relaxing or exotic or private about it. Would not recommend.
Then off to Mexico. We decided to go on our own excursion with a donkey and carriage ride through the city. This was the best part of the trip and had nothing to do with the cruise line and only cost $90.
