Our 10th cruise on RCL (ADVENTURE OF THE SEAS-this trip) and had a blast. The ship staff was attentive. Our wait staff (Maribel & Warren) were so nice we took a group photo of my wife and I serving them. David our Bar man had our "usual " waiting for us as we were seated "Our Time" for dinner. The Entertainment, once again was superb. Our Snorkel excursion (Antigua) was the most memorable at Paradise Reef, then on to a private beach for fun in the Sun.

St. Maarten excursion to Orient Bay (Waikiki Beach) with the buffet lunch was our favorite beach. As for Barbados, St. Lucia, St.Croix and St. Kitts stops, we either grabbed a cab and explored on our own, or just left the ship and did a walk about. Curacao was terrific, have coffee at Fort Riff. In Barbados, take a tour of the Mount Gay Rum Distillery. Look for Smokin' Joe (cab driver St. Kitts) who took us over the mountain to South Frigate Bay for a fantastic afternoon on the beach. Smokin Joe dropped us off and returned at the appointed hour before charging a cent..there and back $ 14.00 (I tipped well of course). Our only disappointment (and not a big one) was the Koochookachew bus ride. The bus driver made it fun, but we were taken to a hilltop with a rusted out lighthouse, a hilltop Chapel surrounded by cactus and then finally Palm Beach for swimming. The first two stops could have been avoided to allow for more Palm Beach swim time. Had the bus only turned left leaving the ship and not right, we were minutes away from all the Aruba resort beaches.

Everyone..and I mean everyone thought Aruba a poverty stricken, desolated (cactus infested) island..until we were taken to the Resort haven with grass lawns and sidewalks, all the big boys were there..MARRIOTT, RIU and much more. All in all a 5 star cruise.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

Cabin JS

A great way to travel. Mucho room, and a bathtub instead of a shower stall. The larger balcony was great. Teddy our attendant was excellent and attentive. We just booked another cruise and requested a Junior Suite (the only way to travel).

Port Reviews

Barbados

We hailed a cab and went to the Mount Gay Rum Distillery for the factory tour. Sampling Rum, straight at 9:30 am was an eye opener. We enjoyed this tour much more than the Barcardi tour in San Juan.

St. Lucia

Walked into tourist shopping village and bought bamboo made sheets. It started raining so we enjoyed some adult beverages and then returned to the ship.

St. Croix

Left the ship and walked through Town. Just to the left of the pier is FRIENDSHIP BEACH. We walked over there and made camp. In no time at all, at least 1/3 of the cruisers joined us. Only regret, they ran out of umbrellas and beach chairs due to high demand, an excellent clear water beach, great for snorkeling-kids,or just sun bathing.
