We were on the Two Ship World Cruise starting with Queen Victoria from Ft. Lauderdale to Sydney. Our cruise began with a two hour wait to be checked in. Our suite seemed adequate but soon developed many problems. First, our shower sewer backed up, covering the shower floor with gray water. We called the purser's office and it was soon taken care of. Second, for nine days we were not sure if we would have hot water or not. Being in the shower all lathered up and the water turning cold was a real shock to the system. Third, while sailing across the Equator, the AC stopped working. This took two days to be fixed.

We understand cruise ships have problems but the manner and efficiency of handling those problems are the test. And some of Queen Victoria's staff were not that concerned with our problems.

Port Reviews

Los Angeles

Knowing this area well, we choose to do our own city tour. A shuttle bus took us from the terminal to downtown Long Beach. Did some shopping and ate a great lunch at Porter's Lighthouse.

Bonaire

Cute, clean town. People were friendly. This is just another Caribbean island and when you have seen one, they all are alike. Weather was hot but it did not rain!!!

Puerto Limon

If you don't book a tour in this port, walking around on your own could be scary. We walked thru the terminal which had vendors selling local items. Turned around and headed back to the ship.

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Boarded ship in Ft. Lauderdale. Took two hours to get check in. People running around and no one seemed to know what they were doing. Check in counters were understaffed for the number of people to be processed.

Aruba

Been here many times, so we stayed on board. This is a great place if you like water sports. Water is clean and a beautiful blue, beaches are sandy.

San Francisco

Love this city. Whatever you do here should be fun. Lots to look at and great restaurants everywhere. Day was sunny and cool, perfect day in San Francisco.

Port Vila

Another place that you must take a tour. Ship docked at a shipping terminal that only had a dirt road. Therefore walking on your own was out of the question.

Brisbane

Beautiful city. Met friends who drove us to the Gold Coast Area. Water was turquoise in color with white sandy beaches. Known for its surfing with many people doing it.
