My husband and I wanted to see the tulips in the Netherlands, and tour the area. We decided on a river cruise, and chose the River Duchess, a Uniworld boat. Everything was all inclusive, and I was a skeptic. I was sure the staff would be standing with hands out at the end of the trip, and we would be encouraged to upgrade all of our tours. That was not the case and the service was first class.

We were met at the airport right away and transferred to the boat. We did not have to touch our luggage until it appeared in the room. We couldn't get into the room for a few hours because they still needed to clean, but we were made very comfortable in the lounge. Light lunch was available, and we were able to chat with those getting off the boat. They gave us tips on excursions, etc.

All the excursions were wonderful. We were always in smaller groups, and they always had a gentle walker group, which was nice for those who needed extra time. There was a meeting every evening to update us on the port and possible excursions.

Cabin Review

The room was small, but same as all the other rooms. It was very clean, and we never saw the staff.
