This cruise line is 4 star and perfectly delivers to that standard. The great thing is that the ships are small , yacht like for those of us who cannot afford a yacht, and comfortable rather than luxurious. The real plus is the fact that they can tie up quayside and get into small places and coves well away from the big cruise vessels . On this Cyclades cruise we loved all the off beat small islands and could have easily given the big names. .....Santorini and Mykonos a miss in favour of more small islands. That said Delos was not to missed... And we caught a great time of year with many wild flowers across the islands. One thing we didn't expect was the fabulous warmth of the Greeks. They are a delight.

The ship had character , the cabins were perfectly comfortable although opening portholes would have been good. Deck space was fantastic and the main lounge and restaurant also good. In a small group environment food can always be criticised , but overall they did a good job producing wholesome and varied dinners....albeit the served dinners of 4 courses being mammoth in portion sizes. Key thing however on such an small ship cruise is the crew and they were a delight. Praise would go to all of them but particularly to the great deck crew for ensuring passenger safety at all times and also to Valerie the amazing Ukrainian bar host who was quite a character and quite made tea cruise for us .

Cruising with Variety is deifintley a great value option to explore islands. After all who wants to land on santorini with 3000 fellow passengers off a colossal cruise ship when u can do its with max 48 from Galileo.
