My wife and I have done a number of Ocean and river cruises and decided on the Viking Douro cruise for this year to relax. After two nights at the excellent Tivoli Hotel in Lisbon where the Viking reception and check-in worked like clockwork, we were transported to Porto to embark on the Viking Torgil. Again, check-in, cabin and welcome reception just glided effortlessly along, as did the boat. We were most impressed with the vessel as a whole; good sized cabins with plenty enough storage for the time aboard and everything else was clean and easy to move around. The crew were as good as we have ever had, as was the food - perfect for the weather and just enough so one was not too uncomfortable to go on the organised excursions, as has happened in the past.
The inclusive shore excursion destinations were perfect, except for the Sandeman's visit that was superficial, unreal and obviously just made for tourists. This contrasted to the other port distilleries where work was actually being done and the tastings were an added bonus.
